Yes you are right. In Africa people live in the sun and are always exposed and you never hear that one of them has skin cancer. Everything is just made up to make people pay money for creams and medication.

Africans also get sun burned and use ochre (a red sand) mixed with fat or butter and applied to the skin to protect themselves from the sun. The name of the mud may vary from region to region, but here where I live we see it applied often. Certain medicinal plant extracts are used as well, the tribal folk know how to apply it and not run to supermarkets at a whim.
