Nutmeg - Healthier Spices

I know, only few people know about nutmeg. So, I'm willing to share some details on it. I know about this valueble tree since we have few trees in our garden.  

As in the title, it is a spices. And also it can be used as a medicine for stomachache.

Nuts of the tree are used as spices and medicines. Nut consists of the tree layers. Outer layer is green colour. It can eat but taste is sour.

Inside of the nut has a black coloured shell.

This black colour shell covered with red coloured thin layer. It used to make spices and watalappan. It has ability to make them taste.

Inside of the black colour shell has the nut. It is used to make medicine for stomachache in ayurwedic medicine. It is good to drink this nut together with lime.

Both nut and red coloured cover on the shell can be exported to other countries. Before selling, need to dry them.
