Sabías algo sobre el origen del Hilo o Seda Dental?

<div class"text-justify">Hola a toda la comunidad, ¿no se han preguntado alguna vez, quién inventó el hilo o la seda dental?, pués dejenme contarles que se tienen registros de restos de hilos o hebras entre los dientes de seres primitivos, se piensa que lo utilizaban para  eliminar los restos de alimentos que se quedaba atrapado entre los dientes , pero no fue sino hasta principio del siglo XIX, cuando un dentista en USA, recomendaba a sus pacientes el uso de hilos de seda, para eliminar los restos de comida que se alojaban en la zona interdental y mejorar el aliento.

Y fue,  hasta finales del siglo XIX, que una compañía multinacional, patentó el hilo dental,  comenzó a fabricarlos, comercializarlos y distribuirlos en seríe por todo el país, más adelante comenzó a utilizarse el hilo de nylon que es mucho más elástico y resistente.

El uso de hilo dental, se tiene como un paso complementario de la higiene oral, a diferencia del uso del cepillo que es más utilizado y es más propagado a nivel mundial, pero que igualmente forma parte, junto al enjuague bucal del kit de higiene dental, juntos hacen un trío perfecto para una salud bucal óptima.

Los pacientes portadores de ortodoncia, ortopedia, de prótesis fija, implantes o con apiñamiento el uso del hilo es super obligatorio y debe convertirse en hábito para todos en general.

En la actualidad existe un gran número de marcas comerciales que ofrecen el hilo dental con distintas características como por ejemplo con cera, sin cera, sabor a menta, etc,  y así entre muchas variedades.

Hola amiga muy interesante, no sabía el origen pero algo de su uso si, lamentablemente muy pocos nos acostumbraron a este hábito, mas usabamos el hilo común y corriente, ahora con la precariedad y elevados precios menos se puede comprar, al igual que un enjuague bucal.
