<h4>Allergy Issues</h4>

Allergies can plague many people causing undesirable reactions in the body. Mild symptoms include itches, digestive issues or other forms of discomfort. Sometimes food allergies can yield serious consequences and result in fatality. I’ve heard of multiple cases where ingredient content was ignored, leading to cardiac arrest and death. It’s a sad reality that needs to be taken seriously by everyone. Allergy treatment can help alleviate symptoms and perhaps eventually contribute to curing reactions. For the first time, the FDA have approved a peanut allergy drug intended to treat children. 

<h4>Child Treatment</h4>

I have friends with peanut allergies and have seen first-hand the symptoms of an allergic reaction, the point that even the persons were swollen. The drug known as Palforzia is a Peanut Allergen Powder-dnfp is to be administered to children from the age of 4 up to the adolescent age of 17. Treatment extending beyond the age of 17 would continue to be followed or interrupted if the overseeing doctor. After a course of treatment which includes three phases, it is hoped that the drug would help the body to build a tolerance of peanut consumption. While not curing the allergy completely, it would help the body handle small doses of peanut ingestion, an amount typical of accidental consumption. Clinical tests showed successful results and it’s a great step forward to help prevent deaths should an accident arise. 

<h4>Peanut Derivative</h4>
The powdered drug is made from peanuts and strategically applies dosage in various phases. Building tolerance is not an easy task and every person will react differently. Skilled medical experts are required to assess and monitor treatment. While this may seem as a relatively easy process, precise dosage and clearance to move on to next phase is crucial to avoid allergic reactions. I might even compare this to walking on ice, applying too much pressure can yield devastating results. 

<h4>Risk and Reward</h4>
New drugs undergo constant review and just as allergies prove, a body can react in different ways under treatment. Some patients may simply reject the drug and be allergic to it, requiring immediate cease of administration. Other concerns regarding side effects also loom and parents should be well aware of the potential issues when considering such treatment. Anaphylaxis is very possible when consuming this drug and may even result in death, a risk that perhaps many are willing to take by closely monitoring their child to prevent serious harm if any abnormal symptoms arise. Ultimately, it’s a step forward that will give people the choice to mitigate potential disasters. I hope that the medical field continues to innovate and make treatment, prevention and response processes better and better.
