In today's news we look at shadows from forming stars. Like a fly that wanders into a flashlight’s beam, a young star’s planet-forming disk is casting a giant shadow, nicknamed the “Bat Shadow.” Hubble’s near-infrared vision captured the shadow of the disk of this fledgling star, which resides nearly 1,300 light-years away in a stellar nursery called the Serpens Nebula.
        Here in Costa Rica this morning at  5:12am we had an interesting earthquake... not the usual rumbling for a few seconds but rather a single powerful jolt! The first I have experienced of this kind. There was also a very loud boom as it happened - I am guessing our tectonic plate made a small but sudden movement. Today it is another beautiful day here with clear skies, 29 centigrade and 79% humidity. How are conditions in your part of the planet? Comment below, including your location.
