Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds was born April 10, 1959, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

As a  youth, he started playing guitar and later learned keyboards, performing with the band Manchild. The group signed a record deal and released three albums.

After Babyface left Manchild, he became partners with Antonio "L.A." Reid and joined a funk group called, The Deele in the early 80s.

The Deele released their third album in 1987, with 2 R&B hits off the album.

In 1988, with the success of songwriting of other artists, L.A. Reid and Babyface left the Deele and later found LaFace Records in 1989.


 In 1989, Babyface  album Tender Lover had smashes like "It's No Crime" (number one) and "Whip Appeal" (number two; the album also went double platinum.
There were other several songs on this album that I really liked(come to think of it,, I liked all of them)..

During his career, he produced and wrote songs  with artists like, Usher, Toni Braxton, TLC, Whitney Houston, Boyz II Men, Pebbles, Tevin Campbell, just to name a few. There are several, several more...

From 1995- 1997, he was producer of the year, receiving 3 Grammy Awards consecutively. Sounds like one heck of a producer to receive awards like that.

A lot of his music was emotional about relationships, and yes I'll admit, I have a soft heart when it comes to songs like these.. I try to be hard and hold in the tears, but sometimes the words just get the best of me.. LOL.. Don't tell no one.. Haha..
