Before October 2017 @samstickkz was on a solo run,  he might have been at that time the only steemian from the Uyo community, according to him;

In his early stage of his journey as as steemian, he always confess that he himself had made alot of mistakes, although he didn't relent in his efforts of been a better steemian as a result of these initial setbacks, so through persistence and willingness to help others @samstickkz initiated the idea of building the Steemit Uyo community.

So as a one man army @samstickkz started up his campaign to building the Uyo steemit community on facebook,  he was really persistence in doing this,  posting about earnings he had made from the platform,most times the values in cents, but his enthusiasm about was very high, he kept sharing links to the earnings of other users as well as some useful  tips about the steemit community works. 

# IT WASN'T ALL ROSY AFFAIR
After his publicity through his facebook account, @samstickkz had a team which consisted of just himself and @evelyniroh at that time,  they had planned to host a Steemit reach out for the Uyo community but this plan was met with much resistance as the University of Uyo which hosted a large number of young persons and a potential ground to building a community were on a strike action, so the dream Ofthe steemit Uyo community had experience a delay to it birth.

# PUSHING FORWARD
In the mist of a failed initial attempt to the formation of the steemit Uyo community, @samstickkz didn't relent in his efforts in creating more awareness of steemit within the Uyo community, as a result of this more persons including myself, @samuelwealth, @xpressng, @ishotz, @mritsnobigdeal got signed on to the platform from the Uyo community.
@samstickkz ensured that that most of us who joined up in the early stage of the journey were well knowledgeable about the basics of what steemit entails, with this knowledge we became armed with the strength to push forward the vision of the Uyo steemit community and make it a reality.

# IN MAKING THE DREAM A REALITY
Now seen as a leader, @samstickkz was continually looked up to for ideas on how to build the Uyo steemit community, he would have to do research, learn on his own,  gather information about the steemit community all in a bid to help us grow, he initiated the ideas if meet-up at different times within the Uyo community where we would meet physically to talk more about steemit, get to know ourselves better as well as plan,  he also initiated an online medium of communication within the Uyo community via a Whatsapp group chat which has grown from a initial membership of about less than 10 persons to over 200 active users.

In terms of monetary commitment @samstickkz has always been ready to put in more, he single handedly paid the bills for the refreshments during the [Second Uyo steemit community meet-up](https://steemit.com/steemit/@samstickkz/steemit-uyo-meet-up-3-special-reachout-to-university-of-uyo), he also paid for the the venue of the [3rd Steemit Uyo community meet-up](https://steemit.com/steemit/@samstickkz/steemit-uyo-meet-up-with-ejemai-decentralizing-the-offline-through-stach), he will do giveaways to help motivate the Uyo steemit community to believe more in steemit community.

# Laudable Achievements
From inception of the Steemit Uyo community, as a result of the initial effort of @samstickkz, the community has experienced some remarkable milestones including; 

- **ORGANIZATION OF FOUR IMPARTFUL COMMUNITY MEET-UPS**
The Uyo steemit community has been able to host four meet-up event within the Uyo community,  this meet-ups which initially started with a numerical figure of just two persons initially to over 60 persons in attendance has aided in building the steemit Uyo community from a a five member community to that of over 200 member community.

- **CREATION OF AN OFFLINE HUB**
One day, @samstickkz announced to the members of the steemit Uyo community that he had been in contact with @ejemia who heads the @stach accelerator hub which is based in the city of Porth-Harcourt, he told us @ejemia has proposed to create a @stach hub for the Uyo community, tmwe were so excited,  it became more real to our eyes and minds when @ejemai visited   Uyo on a regular basis,  and it happened finally,  the Uyo community has a @stach hub where steemians from the Uyo community can come a learn more about steemit,  the hub is still a work in progress and would be fully functional this month, it would have free internet access as well a constant power supply.

# UYO STEEMIANS ARE DOING MORE
As a result of the dream of community initiated by @samstickkz more Steemians from the Uyo steemit community are doing more to add value to the steemit community, @vheobong recently launched the #mitup5 initiative to help mentor 5 newbies every weekend,  @vic-essien is also looking on starting a newbie traning academy for newbies when the @stach hub in Uyo is fully functional, he and @ambdavid have been into humanitarian activities with earning from steemit,myself, @ungest,  @ubongj and @ishotz are planning already a reach-out for the faculty of Engineering and faculty of Science students of the University Of Uyo, @imohdave started his campaign to taking steemit to different schools within  the Nigerian community and the list goes on and on.

It is a well known saying that

The reality of the Uyo steemit community is as a result of the step @samstickkz took about three months back,  this has aided in affecting the lives of so many young persons within the Uyo community,  we are happy you brought the dream to us,  thank you for the vision and more importantly thank you for pushing through the limits to ensuring the vision and dream became a reality.
