Hope you are all taking good care of your teeth,Especially those whose dentist have recommened them to go for Root Canal Therapy/Treatment.
For better understanding, lets understand the anatomy or composition of teeth. Every teeth in our body is made of three layers:
1) Enamel
2) Dentin
3) Pulp (dental nerves associated with hit and cold sensations)
Whenever, A tooth decay occurs and if goes deep down into dental pulp, it causes severe pain and senstivity to hot and cold objects, a person may also feel pain while lying down. It can also lead to formation of dental abscess(Pus around the Infected Tooth) if one don't take it seriously leading to difficulty in eating and mouth opening.
To overcome, this pain dentists recommends Root Canal Treatment (RCT) which is removal of the Dental Pulp or Nerves from the tooth
in order to provide relief from pain to the patient,
and filling the empty space in the tooth with dental filling material namely, Gutta Percha !
which is derived from Malay Word "getah perca" where getah is name of a plant and perca means latex.!
So, if your dentist suggested you for RCT go for it in order to get youself relieved from pain rather than taking heavy Antibiotics and Painkillers and making your body Resistant to those Medicines.
Always Remember, "Prevention is better than Cure" brush your teeth two times daily in order to make your teeth healthy.
