<h2>Sapling protocol to improve the hashrate</h2>
In the cryptocurrency ecosystem, <strong>the ability of a platform to streamline and enhance transaction processing speed (hash rate) introduces greater gains for miners and greater convenience for users.</strong>

The next update of Zcash should allow a better hash performance to attract more miners to work on the transaction network.

At the same time, this will help secure the platform because the higher the hashrate, the more validations are available.
<h2>Shielded transactions with Sapling</h2>
Zcash's technical director Nathan Wilcox said:
<blockquote>"The Sapling protocol will make shielded transfers with about 100 times less memory and probably 6 times faster. In terms of performance, the update will accelerate validations via Zcash-Sapling addresses (a few seconds) that reduce by 100 times the size of downloaded data, ie 30 MB instead of 3 GB. "

The goal of the upgrade is thus towards "default privacy" for network users.

The implementation of Sapling aims to eliminate other types of transactions via a transfer to armored transactions.
<blockquote>"We hope to see a migration to Sapling adoption, and as this migration continues, we hope to move to default confidentiality when the time is right," says Wilcox.
