Traditions, customs, dances at a Romanian wedding

As I promised you two weeks ago, today I will detail a Romanian wedding, which I dearly attended yesterday. A good old friend for over 20 years has made this event. Romanian poetry has a rich history and culture and follows the training from generation to generation. True, many have been lost, but still the most important is still preserved. A total wedding begins well before the ceremony itself.

The first step before a wedding involves choosing the gods (the spiritual parents of the bride). Their choice requires a lot of thought for the future miri. The Nation buys the veil, the candles, the bridal patch and pays religious service from the church.

The bridegroom buys a bride and groom bouquets. Until 20 years ago when all the traditions were still preserved, the petition and petition of the bride's parents followed.

The barber of the bridegroom is still preserved, but not entirely because nowadays the bridegroom is already barbering, and the only simulation takes place.

Bridal cooking is totally preserved and executed by Nasa and the bridesmaids.

Breaking the cake by Nasa and sharing it with those present.

Religious service. The priests exchange the wedding rings between the brides and then place them on the left finger of the ring finger, where they will remain for the rest of their lives. The sharing of the same cup, blessed by the priest, represents the union of the two spouses.

&nbsp;

<img src="https://scontent.fotp3-3.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/37276629_1870882366288870_4614694810521960448_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0&amp;oh=48f7654a3676b832e92cede789583684&amp;oe=5BE828F0" alt="Fotografia postată de Ioana Ciobanu." /><br/>

It was customary for a wedding to last for 3 days and 3 nights, still kept in only a few villages. Now the wedding just keeps one day and one night trying as much as possible to combine all the customs in this short time.

Bridal Waltz. The first special moment marking the opening of the party.

The kidnapping of the bride. Perhaps the most awaited and humorous moment of the evening. That's because of the tasks that the groom must fulfill when he redeems the bride.

Cutting the wedding cake. It is the first task that my grandparents do together as a family.

<iframe width="854" height="480" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/lF3c_nykZGw" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Throwing the bouquet. The bride calls the unmarried girls on the ring to throw the bouquet over their heads. The one who will catch it is said to be marrying soon.

Throwing the jar. The same for the bridegroom who will throw the bridesmaid's bench with his back to the group of uninsured boys. Likewise, the one who will catch her will get married soon.

The bride's veil. Removing it falls into the duties of the god, which will replace the veil with a scarf, scarf or scarf, meaning the passage of the bride from the face to the married woman. The veil will be caught in the hair of the unmarried girl, most of the time the one who caught the bouquet.

On the other hand, the marriages retreat, giving the young married new house gifts. When you arrive home, the groom has to cross the threshold with his wife wearing his arms, thus going together for the first time in the conjugal home.

Although the party seems to have ended, after a short rest, the wedding guests continue to spend their groceries on the grocery store. A few days later the newly married go to the honeymoon to celebrate the first days of marriage. This is the end of this unique event in the life of any couple.
