Day 934. I am off to a slow start on this heavily foggy morning and just sort of mulling over a few fragments of the dreams that I was having last night which were not ultra-bizarre or anything but were rather zany and even rather enjoyable in a 'this is pretty wacky but at least fun' sort of way. 

Although I kind of want to dive into explaining what was going on in the dreams I do not actually recall enough of them to even provide a rough sketch of what was going on in them. I did however sleep really deeply and much better than I have been of late and awoke feeling less stressed and moody overall which is a nice change because at least I do not find myself needing to shake those feelings off first thing in the morning so they do not linger with me throughout the day.

Currently I am rather focused on getting the rest of the homestead here dismantled and packed down, trying to raise funds for moving and working out a bunch of logistics to make it all happen much sooner than I had anticipated. All of which is rather good but I really need to avoid getting manic about it all so that I do not grow physically and mentally exhausted over the coming weeks. Fortunately I grew emotionally exhausted about the whole 'having to move' thing quite some time ago so at least I do not have to overly concern myself in that regard.

It has assuredly been quite the strange journey during my time here and one that I feel is left incomplete because I never reached my three-year mark that would have seen me 'finished' with my homestead area with all it's infrastructure in place so that I could focus on the bigger projects of farming and land management but all things considered I gave it my best and ultimately had/have no say in the abrupt ending to my time here.

To some three years might seem like an overly long time to spend getting things setup but to me it is not that long of a span of time and one that is wholly pragmatic based off prior experiences of how long things take given no funds, no transportation and more or less doing everything the hard way by myself on a limited amount of calories. 

Building a homestead in such a way is an immense undertaking that takes a lot of planning, a lot of resources and an incredible amount of work. Then there is the routine daily chores that just have to be done (like hauling water) that will eat up time each day and must absolutely be accounted for just as much as bad weather days, injuries, ailments and all the calamities that can happen when the body and mind is subjected to hardships, duress and discomfort because all of those things will occur. In other words I did not come into this thing all starry-eyed and knew that I had one hell of a 'tough row to hoe' (as the old saying goes) and set about doing what was necessary the first day and did not really slow down until nearly a year later which was more due to a hard winter combined with sheer exhaustion than anything else.

On a different note I keep considering what shape the book that I write about all this is going to take and although there is an entire book's worth of these Daily posts (plus a book of fiction) I think that they are not enough to really tell the tale because there is a tremendous amount of 'gaps' in the writing that are mostly filled in with the videos and podcasts. There is also a lot that I just have not documented at all for one reason or another so what I have been thinking is to just review everything from the written material, the pictures, the videos and the audio recordings and see what emerges. One way or another I will definitely hammer out a book's worth of words because more likely than not it will be my best avenue to find closure when this phase of my life is over and if folks enjoy it also that would be nice but I think that I need to just write it for myself and see what happens from there.

Anyway I have rambled on enough for one morning and better wrap this up before it gets too lengthy and hence makes the editing aspect of things take overly long and burns up too much of my day.
