# Even When I’m Sleeping I’m working. #

Greetings fellow Steemians, 

..I can always immediately sense there is something else that needs to be done. 

When I’m not painting, I’m usually writing. When I’m not writing, I’m probably brainstorming or doing some kind of research on how to use some kind of tool, platform, or basically in attempting to solve problems.

..And don’t even get me started on self promotion! ;D

Sometimes I wish painting were the only thing.

 Because then I feel like could at least do a better job you know? But then I think of all of the other tasks and challenges that are revolving around the act or pursuit of being a painter and immediately become grateful.

And I don’t even mean to imply in any way that this attitude or perspective is a burden or a curse.

In an odd way, I actually enjoy the humorous analogy of my identity being a notebook/sketchbook with an arm attached to it.

When I decided to commit to a continual practice of blogging, I soon realized and appreciated the power and utility in writing. 

Not only is there the obvious forms of expression, but I have found it to be of a vital importance in sorting out problems and ideas. In effect it has assisted me in working smarter, rather than harder. In writing, I have found solace in knowing that when I choose to act or move forward, its effects would reach a more impactful state.

I think some of the greatest dangers or obstacles that I would need to constantly be aware of is not so much in the amount of work, but in the lack of efficiency in which I could succumb to. I have observed that it is all too easy to become swallowed up in a sea of minutiae. 

As I have heard Jordan Peterson say on several occasions that it isn’t very wise to arrange the chairs as the Titanic is sinking. I’m paraphrasing of course.

Over the course of these past couple of years, I have found it to be a strange and gratifying experience in that if you intently remain observant carefully and long enough, you begin to see the complex forms of interconnectedness shaping and intertwining with other complex patterns as a result of one’s own actions. 

These “meta snowball effects” then simultaneously shape the conditions in which to interact in the future. 

The whole experience is actually quite hallucinogenic when you think about it. 

In an amusing way, this bargaining with the future is almost like an investment of cryptocurrency in which is made up of the same substance as reality and time itself! ;)  

It’s an indescribable feeling that I suppose resembles contentment in bearing a heavy load in pursuit of your highest aim.
