Wants to get in.

And its pact
With the wind.

 I need shelter,
A second skin,
To keep me warm.


<br>So, up I go 
To my darkened room
For a sweater…

Any comfort
Against the weather;

A cup of hot tea...
Soft music,
A  fire in the grate;

A pane of glass,

Anything to reassure
This storm
Will pass...

<br>And though it’s dark
I can be solitary.

I'm not afraid
Of moving shapes

Or the tree's
Crooked finger

For the fire still
Bubbles cheerily.


<br>Nor are my animals
 Worried—

They perceive
Nothing derogatory,

So I can safely sleep
Through fallen trees,

Content
 In my den

And my pack’s solidarity.</center>
