I found this sentence that I share with you as the beginning of the publication and I must say that it left me reflecting, thinking, and finally I partially agree with it. Yes, as you read it, ***partially***. I will give my opinions below, starting from the points I agree with and moving on to what I do not agree with at all.

***Investing in oneself***, the sentence begins by talking about that, and of course, it is impossible for me to disagree with this point. What we invest in time, education, health, exercise, in ourselves, is something that is going to last with us all the time.

To find that unique factor that you mention, that is, that goal that we pursue we must be very clear on what we really want, because otherwise, we will be going around in circles without getting anywhere. But, the acquisition of knowledge must be aimed at empowering us, at providing us with those necessary tools that will allow us to achieve what we want.

In theory, we can say that if we have that clear goal and **focus on it** we will achieve what we want, I say ***in theory*** because, in my experience, it doesn't always happen that way, as if it were a pattern or mold. I don't see it that way, there are no recipes. It's supposed that with hard work, preparation, and persistence everything is achieved, but is this really true?

I'm sure you have an answer to the above question, and it will be as valid as mine. I don't know about you, but I have particularly seen people who have truly done things as if they were following a pattern, very clear about what they want, and yet reality has hit them so hard that it has made it almost impossible for them to achieve those goals. ***Bad Luck?***, those two words could be mentioned by many as the cause of not achieving that sought, or simply that they were not applied enough to achieve it, and even someone could claim that having unclear goals or *beyond what is possible* could be the cause of not achieving it, but, ***is it really so?***.

I don't know what you think about it, but I don't think the factors for not getting something are always attributable to the person, no matter how much time, effort, preparation, clear goals the person has. There are many external factors, alien to ourselves, that play against us and are doubtful, not only delaying the achievement of what we are looking for, but many times making it impossible completely.

#### What can be done if we cannot achieve what we have set as a goal?

*There are moments when we have to change direction, patience and perseverance are not always the solution*.
