It looks like the snow may have missed us out for a pleasant change, we still have rain and strong winds, hopefully it will pass soon bringing nicer weather.  *It had better or there will be trouble.*

I spent a couple of hours  repotting my growing seeds into bigger biodegradable pots. I ordered these from Amazon, with having Amazon prime I ordered yesterday and they arrived today. They arrived in a resealable bag which is going to keep them tidy until I need them again. They cost  £12.98 for  100.

I needed to repot seeds I had planted a couple of months ago as they were outgrowing the egg shells I planted them in. Doing this would make more room to add a few more seeds.  The Radish, Tomato & Carrots are starting to show, these have been transferred to my new pots, then once the weather is better I can transfer the whole pot into the soil, by then they will have a good hold and should be strong enough to go outside.

I broke up the egg shell a little just to let the roots grow through with ease, the shell will decompose into the soil adding extra Calcium. With using these new pots its also going to help me plant them with a good distance between them giving them extra room to grow.  Last year I made the mistake of planting to close so when I was thinning them out I lost quite a few plants.

Transferring the plants to these pots gives me a little more room to keep sowing a few more seeds on the windowsill **BUT** I now have to find room to store the new pots. I may have to have a change around in the kitchen so I can place them on the bench next to the kitchen window as this window gets quite a bit of light and sun through the day.

I have re-potted the Purple Sunflowers that are growing really well, not sure if it will grow in this climate but at the minute they are looking really strong. A shame my own Sunflower seeds aren't  healthy, **all they grow is mould.** 

I filled a few more egg shells with compost to plant a few more seeds. The Radish, Carrots & Tomatoes seems to be growing well but the Beetroot is being very slow. I am finding using the egg shells to start the seeds off a lot easier than  oing it in pots, they seem to like the egg shell better. It can get a bit messy spooning the compost into the shell but well worth it.

I am getting there slowly but a lot faster than I did last year as I started earlier, I am more prepared this year, I have quite a few plants that will be well established to go straight out when the sun comes out and it gets warmer.  My Bee & Butterfly corner is just about finished, all I need is 2 more Lavender plants then its done. **Garden 2019 is well under way.**
