I wrote a post around 40 minutes ago but it's not showing up. I posted it saw it in my home list then went to my page as it was gone.  I have searched for it but nothing.

It happened to me and another person I know.  They just disappear upon creation. I would start to get in the habit of using an external editor for large articles.

You have to start again.  @thedegensloth created a whole announcement post for @zappl and it just went *poof!!* .  Gone on creation.

The strange thing is it briefly appears in your feed, but when you visit it, it says it doesn't exist.

Google 'markdown editor' and find a reputable one for your chosen operating system.  I'm using 'Remarkable'.

https://remarkableapp.github.io/ but the windows version is still under development.

I have experienced this very thing you are talking about. It can be very frustrating especially if it was something good you have writen and spent time on.  As @seablue mentioned get in the habit of using an external editor for large articles. Sometimes I will write my posts in a text editor first and then only ad my content and picture to steemit once I am done. Cheerz

I had a similar situation. The post was written. I sent it. He appeared in the "news" section and...disappeared right in front of me. I had to write again. Very sorry @karenb54 :(

Love the meme!  Did that exact thing I was so pissed but learned a great lesson. Wish I could have recovered my post it was weeks of work. I recovered quickly started over only to have my computer die taking my research with it!
