Liquid had been hoping to shake things up for some time, obvious by Liquid captain Kuro "KuroKy" Takhasomi evaluating new blends, diverse legends, and change the group's playstyle. KuroKy is known as an ace of drafting, however it seemed that a portion of their initial battles this season came down to an absence of feasible choices that they could keep running without being hard countered by other top groups. That didn't prevent the group from progressing nicely, however something probably changed after the group came in just short of the leader at the MDL Disneyland Paris Major. After ESL One Birmingham, Liquid made their first genuine change since shaping the TI7 squad. The main four groups from each gathering will progress in the upper section while the base group on each side will be the principal groups disposed of from the occasion.
