주식투자에 실패하는 사람들의 공통점 중 하나가 바로 자책이다. 투자자들이 하는 자책은 크게 세 가지다.
“그때 그 주식을 샀어야 했는데.”
“그때 그 주식을 사지 말았어야 했는데.”
“그 주식을 그때 팔지 말았어야 했는데.”
이 중 가장 큰 후회와 패배감을 주는 것은 바로 3번이다.

눈이 튀어나올 만큼 아쉽겠지만 실은 하나도 아까워할 필요가 없다. 첫째, 타임머신이 개발되지 않는 한 우리는 절대 과거로 갈 수 없기 때문이며 둘째, 다시 돈을 벌 기회는 얼마든지 있기 때문이다. 사실 내가 팔아버린 주식이 다음 날 급등하는 일은 너무나도 흔하다.
