Hello friends

I am very excited to take part in the SteemFoods contest of preparing a special cake for my mom as part of Mother’s Day celebration.I really had fun baking this cake since it’s something I always enjoy doing.

INGREDIENTS USED 
1.Flour
2.milk
3.Vegetable oil
4.Vanilla 
5.Eggs
6.Baking powder
7.Icing sugar

PROCEDURES USED FOR THE CAKE 

1.Preparation of dry ingredients:
I used 2 cups of flour together with 2 teaspoons of baking powder and half teaspoon of salt.They were all thoroughly mixed and kept aside.

2.Preparation of wet ingredients 
4 raw eggs were cracked and mixed together with the help of the mixing machine.1 cup of sugar was added to the egg and mixing continued till a homogeneous mixture was attained.1 cup of vegetable oil was then added to the mixture and mixing proceeded.Then I added one tea spoon of vanilla and finally mixed until a desired consistency was attained.

Milk together with the dried ingredients was added to the wet ingredients in an alternating manner.As in when I add some of the dry mixture and it mixes with the wet ingredients for sometime, I add the milk and let it mix for a while before I then add the dry mixture in that order.This continued until all the milk and dried ingredients were mixed in the wet ingredients to form a single mixture.

I then greased the thins I was to use for the baking with butter.This will prevent the cake from sticking during removal.

The complete mixture (contains both dry and wet ingredients) was poured in the thin and baked in the oven under low heat for 30 minutes.

While in the oven I prepared the icing sugar.

ICING SUGAR PREPARATION 
500g of icing sugar was measured and sieved to remove any occurring lumps.
250 g of butter was measured and mixed with the mixing machine.
Afterwards the sieved icing sugar was added in bits till it was completely done and the  desired consistency with fluffy feel was attained.

DRESSING OF THE CAKE
After baking the cake was brought out from the over and left to cool.
Then the first icing was applied to the cake and kept in the refrigerator to freeze so it hardens.

How the cake turned out after first icing.

After sometime i brought it out of the fridge and second icing was applied , smothered and designed.

Afterwards I kept it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes and removed it.My yummy cake was ready.
