Going through life in this vessel I call my body, not knowing what comes after. The journey is long and tedious but what else can we do but keep going. Family's present and so are friends, they promise to stick with me till the very end. My mind is in a fix these days, I'm constantly looking for the next wave to ride, blinded by the bright lights and looking for the next wall to hide. My heart's distraught and tears precede my decisions. I'm in a fix, lord help me. So here I am, cap in hand and begging life to give me a break, I want some of the good things you have to offer, why do you pass me by despite how hard I'm working? I look around me and I see others living the right way, in opulence, of course that's the only way to live. Perhaps I'm not doing something right. Happiness is an elucive abstract these days, a mental construct designed to create allure for the weary hearts. A utopia designed to give purpose to all our toils and suffering. Yet all we see now is the pain and irrespective of how hard we work to achieve happiness, sadness will still abound around you. Even if you build a wall to keep everyone out, you'll be sad anyways.  Journey safely, no one gets out of it alive, sadly.
