In this day and age of Internet, anything and everything is possible by a click of a mouse. Imagine those days when we had to stand in long Queues to pay for our Electricity bill, Water bill, Telephone bills etc but now everything can be done sitting in the comfort of our houses. if you have a burning question or you want to research about any topic it can be done easily now a few years ago it was not possible.

BUT WHAT IS DARK WEB ??

Before talking about the DARK WEB lets bust a myth, many people think that DEEP and DARK web are same things but they are not. DEEP and DARK web are 2 different things and using DEEP Web is completely legal.

Let's take one step back and talk about the world wide web(Internet) so that we can clearly understand about the Normal web that we use every day, DEEP web and DARK Web

 World Wide Web(Internet) is divided into 3 parts: 

* Surface web (normal internet that we use every day)
* Deep Web
* Dark Web

Interesting fact: Surface Web(Normal internet) is less than 5% of the entire World Wide Web.

Internet is like an iceberg, only the tip of the iceberg is surface web and the majority (95%) is DEEP and DARK Web.

HOW DO WE DIVIDE THE WEB INTO SURFACE WEB, DEEP WEB, AND DARK WEB?

*SURFACE WEB: Web pages that you can find through a search engine like Google, Yahoo, Bing etc is surface web.

Facebook, Youtube, Amazon and all other blog and web pages that we surf using our normal Chrome, Mozilla, IE browser is part of the Surface web and it is less than 5% of the entire web. Just imagine how big the World wide web is 

ANYTHING THAT YOU CAN SEARCH USING SEARCH ENGINES IS A PART OD SURFACE WEB.

DEEP WEB:  Deep web is completely legal to use. Deep web consists of information which is not available in public domain this information is hidden because it's not useful for normal people and to keep privacy of the users.

Example If I transferred 1000$ to my friend from my bank account this information will not be available online for everyone to see. you cant do a google search on it. Only I or someone with my Internet banking username password can check this information.

DEEP WEB is around 40% of the internet. 

Deep web holds personal information which others should not know or part of the web which is protected by username password or authorization codes is Deep web.

DARK WEB: HERE COMES THE MAIN GUY !!

Dark web is also called as INVISIBLE WEB or HIDDEN WEB

The Part of the Internet which is not indexed by search engines that is we cant search these contents using a search engine is called DARK WEB.

Dark web is the largest chunk of the internet and it amounts to more than 50% of the entire web.

We cannot access the Dark web using our normal browsers like chrome, IE, Mozilla there are special browsers to access the dark web.

There is a special browser called TOR(The Onion Router) browser to access DARK WEB

The Extension of dark websites is .onion. Its not like .com .org .in .co.uk etc .  NEVER EVER OPEN A SITE WHICH HAS .onion EXTENSION

WHAT DOES THE DARK WEB CONTAINS  AND WHY IS IT ILLEGAL TO USE?

The dark web contains criminals, illegal work, highly skilled hackers, buying illegal Arms and weapons, illegal porn, human trafficking, child abuse, kidnappers and contract killers.

* Drugs: Dark web is heaven for drug dealers.

* Highly qualified hackers, in fact top hackers of the world are hired on the dark web by terrorist organization and sometimes by Government also. 

* Many things that are ban in the normal world can be found easily on the dark web like criminal books, how to do perfect crime, make recipes using human organs etc.

* Many Government secrets are buried in the dark web like secrets about the world wars, who did it , why it was done etc



ONE WRONG CLICK ON THE DARK WEB CAN COMPLETELY RUIN YOUR LIFE 

There is  a saying about Dark web: "THERE IS NO LOVE ON THE DARK WEB"
