India today banned 118 more Chinese applications due to tensions at the border between the two superpowers.  <sub>*The 'PUBG Mobile' game developed by Chinese internet giant, Tencent, is among 118 applications currently banned in India. - AFP Photo*</sub> The Information Technology Ministry said the applications included mobile versions of PUBG online games and other services offered by Chinese internet giant Tencent. The ban was imposed on the grounds that the application involved promoting activities that 'threatened India's sovereignty and integrity, Indian defense, national security and public order'. India and China have been embroiled in several clashes and clashes following border claims in the Himalayan mountains in recent times. India has previously banned 59 Chinese applications including the TikTok video sharing platform while the now banned PUBG has millions of users in India. PUBG was developed by a South Korean company but the mobile version of the game, which has become a global craze, was developed by Tencent. Other banned applications include games and online payment services, matchmaking sites as well as software for selfie photo editing. The Ministry of Information Technology said the application involved stealing user data as well as collecting and exposing it to elements that threaten India's security and defense.
