I'm a huge baseball fan I'm also a huge video game fan so you'd expect me to be a fan of baseball video games right well that's only kind of true I mean baseball stars RBI baseball MLB power pros

 yeah absolutely I love those games somewhere along the line baseball video games stopped being baseball video games it became like interactive baseball broadcasts



 I mean I'm a baseball fan even I think that sucks welcome to MLB o7 the show so anytime I play one of these games I always have the same basic reaction I'm impressed by the presentation I like all the features and modes the gameplay 





bores me out of my mind keep waiting for modern baseball game to prove me wrong to do something fun MLB o7 the show is not that game now here's the first pitch in the air to right-center and carrying



 well way back there now so run shot to right-center as the Mets are out in front now 2 to nothing anyway opinions and preferences aside this is exactly what you'd expect from an annual sports series for better or worse what's 



interesting about this one is that it's stuck between consoles the ps3 was Sony's current console at the time but it was only a couple months old by the time MLB o 7 was released so obviously 



you can understand why the ps3 version might have been a lesser focus certainly feels that way when you're playing it just it just seems like the ps2 game with a cleaner uniform now the pitch 


swinging a IPOP drifting into foul territory and there's the first out and you know even then they miss some spots there's a lot of little things in this game that are common for hdup scales



 of non HD games the parts that aren't visually improved will terrible which you'll notice in some of the backgrounds and some of the players still have tho


e generic ps2 faces there's weird hit detection other visual glitches and make it really rough around the edges but hey HD games were a new thing it was 2007 



it's understandable I just wish the game were more you know fun now you can hit just by tapping the X button that's what I did cuz that's all I'm interested in doing anything more than that and I just




 fall asleep MLB o 7 offers some kind of swing analysis thing which is a new addition it tracks your swings and tells you why you're not hitting the ball that's right the game has a system 



specifically included to tell you why you're not hitting which would seem to indicate not hitting is a common problem it's like the Jerry Seinfeld bit about people cracking their heads open we chose not to avoid these dangerous 



activities we chose to wear a tiny plastic hat swing analysis is a tiny plastic hat here's the pitch swing and miss with the curveball and there's your second out of the inning anyway hitting is what it is they call it realistic 



even though it's anything but the pitching fortunately makes a lot more sense you pick your pitch you pick a location you get this little gauge to throw it that determines the speed and 


accuracy so stopping the gauge it's just the right time makes for better pitches that's definitely more fun than hitting and fielding kind of sucks that's MLB o 7 in a nutshell of course these games 



are always more about modes than gameplay so there's a freaking ton of modes in MLB o 7 the show season modes career mode the whole creative player can get them to the bigs mode it's funny



 how even if the sports are different modes tend to be the same there's just a ton of depth here and no shortage of ways to play question is what you want to it to me if video game makes 



something harder to do than it is in real life that's kind of a problem I mean I love baseball I play baseball there's nothing better than hitting a baseball this game totally misses that 




for all its modes and options for all the realism playing the MLB o sevens show is nothing like playing baseball playing baseball is funny and have a 



look the catcher sets the target down around the knees but this is a good lowball hitter and he gets good wood on this one.
