### <center>Since @papa-pepper is heading to the Ozark Area Steemit Meetup this Saturday in Springfield, MO, the @little-peppers got in on the gift preparing action.</center>

The @little-peppers may be little, but they know the blessing of gardening, so they are hard at work preparing some free garden seeds for the steemians who will be in attendance. Anyone with enough room in the soil of their yard or room for a pot can easily grow at least *some* food for themselves and their family.

To have some fun with it, we got some colored containers to put the seeds in. Then, we will take matching colored markers to write the names of the seeds in the corresponding colored container. We have a large variety of seeds on hand, but are just going to be including some of our favorites here.

## <center>KIWANO</center>

The Kiwano, or *African Horned Melon*, is a delicious and strange fruit that we encountered two years ago and grew our own for the first time last year. They grow on a vine that can get *very long* and the ripe fruit looks like a yellow pufferfish. I saw some for sale for $5.00 USD each up in Wisconsin, and it sure made us glad that we now grow our own.

## <center>KALE</center>

Kale is an incredibly easy-to-grow plant that is also delicious. The @little-peppers have enjoyed it fresh and raw, in smoothies, and perhaps most deliciously as baked Kale chips. It’s great in salads, and way more vitamin and nutrient packed than iceberg lettuce!

## <center>CHINESE RED NOODLE BEANS</center>

@papa-pepper has been raving about this one for months. We tried them for the first time last year, and for months they produced an incredible harvest. Their color makes them easy to distinguish from the stems of the plant, which makes for easy picking. Also, the Japanese Beetles that ate our Pole Bean plants left these guys alone, which was great! We say that these are a **must try** plant for any gardener!

## <center>DAIKON RADISH</center>

A favorite plant of the permaculture movement, the Daikon Radish is both healthy and multi-purpose. The long roots will break up and aerate hard and rocky soil. If you’ve never seen how long these lengthy radishes can get, you should check them out. As delicious as any other radish, they resemble long icicles when they are uprooted.

## <center>CHINESE GREEN NOODLE BEAN</center>

These are very similar to the Red Noodle Bean, but they are green in color. Also, they may have produced for a slightly longer time last season. All we know for sure is that we got a ton of them for month after month!

## <center>CAROLINA REAPER</center>

@papa-pepper can’t really give away free garden seeds without including pepper seeds, and the @little-peppers are no different. Our choice? The current world record holder for hottest pepper in the world, the Carolina Reaper. An excellent addition to salsa, but a pepper you can’t board a plane with, as it’s considered a potential hijacking mechanism. Enjoy these on the ground folks!

## <center>PIE PUMPKIN</center>

Homemade Pumpkin Pie is one thing, but Homegrown Pumpkin Pie is another! We enjoyed the Pies that @mama-pepper made for us last year from the Pumpkins that we grew, and wanted to pass that blessing on to others. We saved our own seeds, and love this delicious little Pumpkins!

We are not sure how many steemians will eventually show up at the Ozark Area Steemit Meetup, but we wanted to be sure that we could at least bless *some* of them, so we are making five collections of the seeds above to give away at the meetup. Growing your own food can be a wise and liberating choice, and we have been incredibly blessed so far as we have transitioned to a more self-sufficient lifestyle.
