WHO AM I? THE BIG EVER FLOATING QUESTION

My name is Obafemi, I live in Ibadan and sometimes Lagos Nigeria, and I am Yoruba. But those are just facts about my person but who am I really?

I am a Nigerian struggling to find his place in society, optimistic that my finances will somehow become buoyant soon enough and I would be able to do the things I enjoy with my life. I was born a Christian but have no deep ties as I constantly drift from being a Christian to being agnostic.

**That’s not it. Who am I, really?**

Maybe my hobbies would help. I like to write different forms of things; I write songs, poems, articles, stories and movie scripts, and funny enough I find writing annoying, the oxymoron continues to annoy me.

I also like to have delightful conversations about life and her many offsprings. I like to argue as well, my parents say I should have been a lawyer, but lawyers are professional liars and I am not much for lying.

I also like to think. I like to retreat into my mind and wonder about the things my visual sensor detects and things I find interesting.

I also enjoy entertainment; movies, music, stories, poems, everyday life and such. I used to watch a shit ton of movies, but I decided to use my time more effectively, now I waste it on other things like thinking about effective things to do, finding excuses to procrastinate stuff and wondering if I have been brainwashed by aliens.

I have a whole bunch of things I like to do as you can see, but being good at them is another thing entirely. I also like to jump from one thing to the other before mastering any making people classify me as confused and inconsistent, they may be right.

**But am I just defined by the things I like to do? What else would I say can be used to explain who I am?**
A wise man once said show me your friend and I will tell you who you are, so can who I am be defined by the friends I keep?

I used to have a lot of friends back in uni, but as you know life happens and we all are in search of life’s jewels (money mostly) and as such have drifted apart. I do keep in touch with a few friends here and there, and made some new ones along the way but I don’t think I can be defined using my friends anymore.

**Maybe my dreams then**

I used to want to be one of the richest men in the world, I also wanted to be really famous and be adored by most people, but then I grew up. I understand money doesn’t bring happiness, and fame is a double sided coin that’s not all it’s cracked up to be.

Now I just want to be rich enough to execute any project I want (movies, music and such) and take care of my family and friends.

To be honest I still cannot answer the question of who I am properly, but I can say this; I am a young man trying to figure his life out and find happiness. How to successfully accomplish this I do not know, but I’m on a journey to find out.
