# Capernaum
What can I say about this one? I'm not even sure if it's to be called a movie in the first place. This is more like a documentary, as the starring actors are real life characters. Zain is only twelve years old, and he provides valuable insight into the cruel situation millions of kids around the world have to grow up in.

They are just numb. There's no more childhood in their eyes. After seeing these kids many times, when they started to have a trusting relationship with me, I used to ask them, "are you happy to be alive?" Ninety-nine percent of the kids answered "no". They told me: "I'm not happy to be here." "Why am I here when there's no one to take care of me?" "Why am I here if I'm going to be hungry all the time?" They have the feeling that they're here because they are being punished for something.

Brought to a world that couldn't care less about his human needs, and raised in extreme poverty, Zain has to find a way out of this mess. The movie contains way too many rough and shocking scenes, making viewers experience intense emotions and reconsider their attitude towards life. Most of us complain about the little things, when in reality we are truly blessed to live the life we are.

Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, this movie is  guaranteed to make you feel something. Be it anger, sadness, agony or desperation, you are definitely in for a thrilling experience. What is very interesting about this piece, is the fact that Zain is not even an actor. He is just another kid growing up in hell. A Syrian refugee living in Lebanon, who barely knows how to write his name at the age of 12. 

Thankfully, that's no longer the case for him, as he and his family were recently relocated to Norway with the help of the UNHCR.  I wish the same could be done for all kids in need. God bless those people who gave this young man a chance for a better life. 

I would definitely recommend watching this movie.

- Amazing performance by Zain.
- Very intense emotions.
- Life changing message.

**Cons:**
 
- None for me.
