Are we too technology dependent? When I first started in this business, there were not nearly as many people who were very tech-savvy as today. I'm sure they exist, but most of them have a hard time grasping the intricacies of their systems.
Why is technology so ingrained into our lives? Is it a symptom of our age or is it a result of something else? I believe it is a symptom of our age. As a result of the increased demands placed on us by the Internet and our cell phones, we are more "techno-dependent" than ever.

The truth is that technology has a place in our lives, it can be helpful. But it shouldn't be something we become completely dependent upon. The word "too" needs to be in quotation marks because we should find ways to live without technology.

For example, if you want to go out shopping and need directions, maybe you could use your cell phones and walk around instead of having to rely on the maps and navigation systems that you have on your phone. It is also nice if you have an option to just make a call to someone and then they will call you back.

If you don't have cell phones, I suggest you get satellite internet. That way, you can still keep in touch with all your friends and family. You won't have to use a cell phone or other "technology" at all if you have satellite. Another area where technology is now becoming more embedded is in the realm of social networking. We all know people who use Twitter, Facebook, and other social networks to interact and communicate with one another. They may seem to be very tech-savvy, but when you think about how much it cost them to set up their accounts, I am afraid that they really aren't that tech savvy after all.

What people often forget is that they could have been social networking through their email accounts. Instead, they used social networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook. So the question becomes, are we too technology dependent? If so, then we need to start looking for ways to live without technology.

Another area that I am concerned about is the fact that our kids are now very technologically savvy. They often play games that require cell phones and other gadgets. How will they grow up without these devices? If they are not allowed to own cell phones, how will they be able to communicate with friends and family members? This will lead them to become more dependent on technology rather than relying on the people around them to help them understand technology.

Just think about how many phones we have in our pockets. There are a lot of phones that we have in our pockets and at work, yet most of them do not even have a camera. We might use these phones to talk on, send emails, check e-mails and send text messages to our friends, but we are not thinking about the phone calls that we can make while we are actually on the phone.

In addition to this, there are so many cell phones on the market that we would never know how many phone calls that are made or received each day. Are we still relying on the people around us to give us advice when we are talking to them? These are some of the reasons why I wonder if we are still too technology dependent. I hope that my point of view is considered and that we can start living a simpler life and move away from the technological world that we have created.
