the fourth of february

<center>**the fourth of february**</center>

<center>three hundred and sixty-five days ago,
my heart sped up but time went slow.
i always feared that day would come;
i was foolish, young, and dumb.

<center>when it ended, i lost it all,
and my eyes became a waterfall.
i was angry, i was scared,
but most of all, i wasn't prepared
for such a loss and so i fell
down a melancholy well.

<center>as i drowned in a puddle of sorrow,
i longed for a tomorrow
in which you'd come back into my life
to take on the form of my beloved wife,
but i guess for now i have to be okay
with us just being friends. maybe one day
things will change, we'll be together;
you and i in love forever.
