Words like coincidence are a judgment that attempt to explain the occurrence of events when one is not able to reason from cause to effect.

God communicated with his people through the sacred scriptures, of course in the language that the people of that time used and of course the adpatation of his written words can in any case not have a literal translation. However, thanks to technology and scholars can be transferred to our times and leave us an imprint and confident teachings in our savior Jesus Christ. Affectionate hug @ lydon.sipe

I practically believe that God's sovereignty is unquestionable and he rules and prevail over the affairs of men. 
Who probably those words mightbe removed for some obvious reasons. Just my thought

Interesting question. I tend to fall on the 'free will' side. As much as i believe in a higher power with an overarching plan, if man isn't in control of his actions, can/should he be responsible for them?

Interesting post, lydon - but I don't think it's a simple dichotomy between God's sovereign will and man's free will - there is also the permissive will of God

For one, as I am not a Rabbi or very learned, I'm scared to tackle this where it will get locked and become uneditable. (I wrote a big thing, then edited and re-edited, then deleted, now this...)

But, at least I can agree with you and ask, since G-d is One, how can anything be a "coincidence...?" Yet also, if at every moment, I can choose between a good or an evil reaction to whatever I encounter, isn't that free will within the bounds of that situation?

Ok, lydon.sipe I appreciate very much your publication, because you have raised a very deep topic, which has brought the philosophers and theologians headlong for centuries.

1- The first issue is whether the words are directly linked to real things (real as material, there are real things that are not matter, such as energy and information), or are simply conventions that each civilization, each language, uses to communicate.
2 - If we assume the second, there may be things in the world or other planets that, as we have not seen, we cannot have words to designate, with which, then it is concluded that there are things in the universe that can exist without words. There can be chance or coincidence even if they do not exist in the Hebrew language.
3- If things are linked to words, as Plato believed, something of the essence of the rose exists in the word "rose". Ergo, things cannot exist without the words that designate them, not in Hebrew or any other language.
4- As I commented before with our common friend inphiknit, according to the Torah and the Kabbalah, the Universe was created from the letters of aleph bet. The sound of that “bereshit bará elohim” was what set the universe in motion, as ARI Ha Kadosh has sung in his poem “The Tree of Life”, which is an amazing anticipation of the big bang theory.
5- I do not know if there are material or at least real things with another condition (energy, information), that do not exist in the Hebrew language, I recognize my disability. What I can answer you, from my own experience, is that from the Hebrew language, from the letters of the aleph bet, from the prayer or MAN, even from the meditations like those of Abraham Abulafia that the Master Albert Gozlan has revived today in Madrid, YOU CAN CREATE REAL THINGS, THINGS THAT DIDN’T EXIST BEFORE IN THE WORLD. It is what underlies the history of the Golem, when the rabbi of Prague made a meditation with the letters of Yud Hei Vav Hei, and created a shapeless son, who destroyed the market and terrorized the Jewry.
6- I absolutely believe that we can create new, noble, beautiful things, from the Hebrew letters, employing the Kabbalah meditation, or simply scrutinizing that magical book that is the Bible, as Borges called it.
7- On the other hand, I believe that beyond discussing whether there are things that do not appear in our sacred language, it is more in line with the principles of our faith to CREATE new things that fill us with hope, that contribute to improving the work of the Creator.
8- Since the Creator is one (Shema Israel ...) then we are all part of the Creator, as Maimonides and Spinoza intuited.
9- Therefore,  have creative powers, since we share such powers with our divine essence. It is clear that we can also create things that did not exist before in the world through words. And that is the most wonderful miracle of creation.
10- Finally, I believe, with my teacher Michael Laitman, that the wisdom of Kabbalah and quantum physics, astrophysics and neuroscience, today dialogue in an increasingly closer, uninhibited and cooperative way. I say this because quantum does not believe there is chance, coincidence. All the things of the universe are intertwined, and - echoing what our sages have always said - we are now convinced that "not a single blade of straw is shaken on the ground if there is not an angel above to move it."

For me,  I believe man has free will while also recognizing the sovereignty of God.  The choice to be righteous or to be a sinner is that of man not God.
