My town people are believed to be descendants of the Israelites in the Bible, they are the white gold(salt) miners.**I am talking about the Ga-Adangbes**.

**The migration route of the Ga-Adangbes**
----------------------------------------------------------

History fortells that in 672-525 B.C the Ga-Adangbes migrated from Goshen, the part of the Egypt given to the Israelites at the time of Joseph , they  then crossed to  Ethiopia then they moved to West Africa, Nigeria. From Nigeria they were led by their leader King Ayi Kushi (Cush) (1483-1519) to Ghana(Ada in Greater Accra Region), their final settlement.


**What caused them to move to their current location?**
-----------------------------------------------------
Most atimes the migration of people to a different location is based on unfavorable conditions and I should believe that this caused the migration of the Ga-adangbes. But basically the Israelites were under the oppression of the Egyptians that's why they left the land. Assuming Ghana wasn't favourable for them, they would have migrated to somewhere else but thankfully the southern part of Ghana, Greater Accra had favourable conditions for survival so they stayed there and named it **Ada**.

**Cultural Practices of The Ga-adangbes**
---------------------------------------------------------
The Ga-adangbes are known for their dipo rites done to purify young women in their twenties before marriage. Here The women are dressed half naked and they put beads, beautiful and colourful loin cloths, and woven headgear.  and then they perform a dance and engage in other activities to make them responsible women. But currently this rite does not really happen because of education and modernization and those that happen, the women are made to cover their nudity.

Asafotufiam is another cultural practice of the Adangbes, it is a festival of war and it is celebrating to mark the achievements of the ancestors for winning wars. It is celebrated mostly in the first week of August. During this time slot if people from various parts of Ghana attend and observe the beautiful culture of the Adangbes.

Their main occupation is mining of white gold(salt),if you want salt at its cheapest price then visit my town. They are the main suppliers of salt to the neighbouring countries like Nigeria who are into oil drilling.

Since my town is near the coast specifically along the Volta River, fishing is also one of their occupations, if you want fresh fish then visit my town. The women then send the fish to the market to trade.They are also into farming of crops because it f their vast land.
