In this report, I cover the early market action from London on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019. I look briefly at the precious metals, the stock market, the dollar, the bond market and the price of WTI and Brent crude oil.

Today I touch upon the ongoing saga of Deutsche Bank and the continuing slide in its valuation and what it could mean for all the Too-Big-To-Fail banks around the world. I have spoken about this bank before and my opinion on it has not changed and it is just a matter time that it will either collapse or maybe even nationalised by the German government.

Deutsche Bank, nevertheless, is not an isolated incident and what links all the big banks together is their heavy reliance on derivatives and the huge bets they have placed in these instruments.

My conclusion is that trouble at Deutsche Bank would be just a warning for the rest of the big international banks that are under the supervision of the BIS and the Basel 3 rules.
