Told you that I was going to show you what it looked like this morning. 

You can see some water in the water harvesting ditch. 

The dam had lots of leaves and stuff stuck in it and the sink trap ended up creating a little dam of its on. 

Now, we are ready for a big rain!!!

Yesterday I commented on an old post of yours. My yesterday, maybe it is still today for you, or still yesterday, which from your perspective is today. 
Anyway that sounds very silly,...
 I am still making my way through my catch up on posts, I follow some cool people but have missed a lot, and also have many people who have not posted for over a year, so am sorting through. 
I wanted to do a little more sharing with you, I feel an affinity with your transition from your working and illness to something more in recovery. Our move is prompted by need around my sickness, but I am determined to make it an awesome change eventually for my family. 
It is our first week in our new semi rural home. We too host a flood easement on our property, our second night was a bit of a disaster (sand bagging and emergency plumbing was involved,) although for us it was our own storm water issue, the easement seems ok at the moment. I have never come across these before, but they are very common where we are. 
We had a big catchment dug yesterday, so hopefully we can reclaim our home and start over in the front rooms. It has been quite the week. 
Would you believe in Christmas eve we took our kids to a farm to pick up a puppy, when we got there it had been sold to someone else. 
**But, on a more delightful note, I see you have a gorgeous golden furred friend.** 
We adopted a beautiful golden girl yesterday, she is divine. She will stay with her mother and 5 brothers and sisters for 2 more weeks, but then she will join our family.

_I am shuffling forward, then stumbling back, but with tentative baby steps I think we are headed in the right direction._

I think I jinxed myself. As soon as I pressed post my husband called out. 
This time the plumbing is not Storm water! Emergency plumbing sounds expensive. 
Living at the top of a hill with a sewer leak, in summer, in a place where it storms most evenings... probably not the usual way to engage the new neighbours.
