Mad Max trilogy : In the eyes of the critics

<p>Mad Max is certainly an important film for generations that grew up in the '80s and it discovered Mel Gibson, the future star of the Hollywood movies. With a budget of modest 400,000$, &nbsp;in home Australia, it earned a profit of 5.3 million, while earnings in the world exceeded 100 million $.</p>
<p>When the film appeared it divided the critics. There were very negative comments on this Australian post-apocalyptic action. After the premiere of Mad Max in 1979, one of the Australian critics emphasized that it was a realization that would be favorite for rapists, sadists and killers of children. The New York Times described it after the US premiere as "an ugly and incoherent film," while Variety complimented him.</p>
<p>After Yugoslavian premiere , film critic Nebojsa Pajkic in Dzuboks article titled "New Australia", writes that we will have to treat the director George Miller as a student of New Hollywood, who did a great deal of the lessons, but he did not understand them very well.</p>
<p>"In Miller's film, level of the conceptual-dramatic setting does not work. Designed as consistently conceptual sequences, Mad Max is an excellent polygon for demonstrating director's exhibitionism, George Miller, who at any time wants to point to his own high level of elaboration of New York trends, as well as the high realistic possibilities of Australian film staff. This film acts as some kind of advertising spot to propagate Australian cinema on the US market.</p>
<p>"In doing so he overlooked (overlooked or not thought) that the stylistic mannerism of the late seventies could hardly rely on conservative moral patterns developed from the fifties to the seventies.''<br>

Nothing better happened with the film that followed - <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082694/?ref_=tt_rec_tt">The Road Warrior </a>from 1981. This time, Nedeljko N. Despotović reminds us of Pajkic's criticism of the first film, pointing out that the sequel is a bad film and that "a simplified and insufficiently elaborated scenario" is actually a material intended for Miller's minimalistic system of directing.<br>

"Miller's main hero is without a strong morale. He helps the oilmen for the reward of several gas bins or when he's able to do nothing else. Representatives of morale are oilmen, which by the way seem to look like post-apocalyptic hippies. They are struggling for the great thing - an extension of the human species. On the other side of the barricade, are the punks that resemble to Max. They're only interested in gasoline. Hippies suceed to win &nbsp;by manipulating the protagonist. Max stays in recollection and the decadent hippies are a happy ending for the ending credits. It's terrible, isn't it? "Despotovic writes in a critique published in the 156th Dzuboks.</p>
<p>The third continuation of this Australian post-apocalyptic action brought us another star. Tina Turner, who had dominated the music scene for years and won the several Grammy awards. One of them for "One of the Living" from the film <a href="http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089530/?ref_=tt_rec_tt">Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome</a>:<br>

Dzuboks devoted most attention to Tina Turner, pointing out that as Aunty Entity is a mixture of an explosive type of feudal mistress, postmodern female knight and sexy machete. This article does not deal with the quality of the film itself, but it points out that it has two stars, that it is paid out a short time and that the title song "We do not need another hero" is superbly listed on the top lists and that the cinema satisfaction is guaranteed.</p>
