As parents we make the decisions that are right for us and our family.    The nature of a parent is to protect and do what is best for their children.  To chastise someone for vaccinating  an infant means you don't respect another person's view point.  Do you really want to be friends with that person?

I will vax my kids too.  I do acknowledge people's fears of vaccinations and it seems there is some compelling evidence to go along with them.

So if vaccinations cause autism the chance is still incredibly small compared the most likely case of something the vax will prevent.

If anyone asks about it just say *"Oh you know it's such a controversial topic I'd rather not discuss it."*

I don't know what it's like to parent a child with or without vaccinations but if I didn't get them their shots would I need to keep them in a bubble of purity?

The vaccinations are as safe as they can be made.

Like anything there will be bad batches - just like burgers.

*You* are the mother. *You* get to make the decisions. If other people want to make the decisions, tell them to get their own kids to experiment on.

Vaccines are part of the solution, not part of the problem. 

Yes you hear stories of when things go wrong - but you never hear of all the kids that *didn't* get polio because they were vaccinated against it.

You do what you think is right, and the hell with everyone else. ;-)

My kid is 25, so I have moved on to other issues and he seems to have lived through his 48 shots - I don't know if I would recognize damage because he has ptsd so that's what I deal with. I survived 7 shots in the 1960's. You kid is getting 68 now if I am not outdated.

About two years ago I went into fb groups for vax issues on all sides because I do internet research and that's what the job called for. A lady was writing a book and I did fb and pinterest research for her. 

My suggestion to you is to find fb groups where the parents are still doing the shots – other moms who in your position - who have no choice or they can't put their kid in school or keep their health insurance. Believe me, you will find your people who are just as frustrated and there are many groups you can join.

So these mom's use strategies to reduce possible harm while staying in compliance with the people who make the rules about the shots.  At least do what you can to keep your kid healthy through this.

Some strategies are:

1. Reading all inserts the week before you go and then going over them with your doctor in person. Some doctors have not usually read these and will see the same warnings you do for the first time. Others already know and will change things up if they know you care. 

2. Space out the shots. The doctors can do this with absolutely no risk to you and your legal status. And it is easier on your kid's bodily systems.

3. Learn the signs to watch for in case you do have trouble. Other moms have already done the research and have this information in files you can get and take to your doctor if needed. If symptoms do occur - you are off the hook for the other shots as well as your other kids.

4. Take photos of the vial, box, code numbers, sanitary setup and everything else that is numbered. Put the date and time stamp on the photos. This is so you have a record of specifically what your kid got in case the worst happens. You are required to prove where you got the dose from - not your doctor or the people who made it. Back that info up off your phone. 

4. Go to the CDC website now and get the schedule. Then get it every six months to see what is changed. It is very readable and gives you the timing to be aware of so you can get ready. The schedule does not include any risks. Those are in a different part of the cdc site but are also read to read and understand. 

6. Learn what the inert materials are in the shots and detox the ones you can as soon as you can. You can do a lot in the first 10 days or so and your kid will do better without that stuff in his cells.
  
7. Some of the dosages have choices in how they are delivered. Do the research and get the least harmful - not he cheapest.

That's all I can remember now. This info is on one of my external drives. Pinterest is very good to look up each individual shot so you know what to look out for.

It sounds like you are doing the most important job in the world...being a parent. As parents we must make tough decisions and oddly enough deciding how we will protect our children has become a social decision instead of a private one. I support your decision to be a parent and to protect your children the way you see fit.

Most people are complete morons and give advice based on what celebrities on Twitter tell them.  

There's a difference between refusing to vaccinate and refusing to vaccinate while being uninformed just as there is between opting to vaccinate and opting to vaccinate while being uninformed.  Each vaccine has a pullout of ingredients that comes with it that all doctors will provide upon request.  Some ingredients offer more risk than others. 

My kid is the same age as yours and we're vaccinating with everything except for the MMR and Varicella.  MMR has too many claims against it and Varicella is unnecessary as both of us had chickenpox. I should qualify this also by saying our kid doesn't attend daycare.

I'm an anti-vaccer! But I can't get vaccinations because I don't have a properly functioning immune system and vaccinations are more likely to make me sick or have no benefits at all.

I also believe in testing immune systems before vaccinating. Aside from that, I'm all for herd immunity.

(If it makes you feel any better, I have an autistic friend with two autistic children that is constantly fighting against the anti-vaccers because she just wants them to shut up and get their science sight.)
