BitShares & The 2nd Great Nickel Depression

I'm a huge fan of the concept of a Decentralized Exchange for holding & trading your cryptocurrency.  Centralized exchanges just present too much risk for my liking.  The BitShares DEX is just one of the better options out there to use.  Its not well know and its more of a marketing problem than a technical problem.

The native currency on the exchange BTS has had quite a wild ride with the rest of the space.  In October and November of 2017, we saw what Stan Larimer referred to as the nickel depression where the price fell as low as .04 to .05 for several weeks prior to the major run up to $1.

In the last few weeks, BitShares has once again fallen sub a nickel to a current low of .035 on Binance and is currently sitting at .05 bitUSD/BTS (its only higher mainly due to the broken peg of the bitUSD stable coin).  Are we in the middle of a 2nd Great Nickel Depression prior to another ramp up, or are we going to .01?  Do your own research and decide for yourself.

Only time will tell, but I'm voting with my wallet and buying up a sizable amount of BTS.  Yes, it could go to 0 so I'm not risking money I can't afford to lose 100% of, but at these lows, the asymmetric upside opportunity far outweighs the downside risk in my opinion.  I don't think I will get the chance, but if it goes to .01, I'm buying a lot more.  

As a top performing blockchain in terms of transactions per second as well as a former pet project of Dan Larimer, I see a potential integration within the EOS framework as a possibility.  The project stands on its own, but the risk is a lack of a catalyst to take it to the next level.  With the launch of the Binance DEX on the table for Q1 2019, barring a major rebound in Bitcoin and the space in general, something is needed to make it more relevant.
