It has been over a month since @amymya messaged me and asked me if I was in the MSP discord server and I said yes. Okay then she said and I was left scratching my head. 

After a few minutes, she messages me again with a Discord Link to who knows where but if there is a discord link I need to click it! 

Down the rabbit hole, landing on an assortment of characters some people I am familiar with since they were in another community together with me and some the first time that I met. 

There was this crazy cookie lady who kept giving cookies to whoever pops in and says hi, then we had a naked Aussie man who was in a friendly argument with English bloke on what was tastier Vegemite or Marmite. Personally, I don't like either lol unless with butter. 

Then there were Septapus Worm holes and Fractal Mangoes. A pig was running around and a rat princess giving cheese and ethereal music. A taxman busy with coding and numbers.

It was a madhouse!! A nuthouse! A loony bin!

Yet there was a certain draw to the different personalities in this community. It might be because of the music because majority of the people in the server were creative artists who composed their own songs and are super talented! 

They are mainstays of the Open Mic contest and another initiative which is called Cover a Steemian which is just an awesome idea to further share the wonderful original music done by Steemians. These two brothers are just awesome. 

# What is Helpie

It is a community that aims to educate and help grow redfishes and minnows. They have weekly meetings and trivia posts that provide educational information on anything Steemit. 

They are an invitation-only community and if you are interested in joining you can contact @paintingangel so that she can scout your account and see what kind of posts do you have. 

This is done because each member is registered to a community account that trails them. @helpie all has quite a number of auto trails behind it so that no member will receive zero votes. 

Yes with all the talent and skills of most members it would be almost impossible to zero out. To be honest I don't know why I got invited though as I am untalented.

Every Monday is the weekly meeting and it is a great opportunity to meet the other helpienauts. @meno leads this meeting and the topics are very diverse as he talks about cryptocurrency, the health of the Steem platform and plans for the future. 

This is the time that he tries to motivate people to keep Steeming even with the bear market. I have to say that it works as majority of the members are able to post consistently. Some are even managing to submit one original song a day! Have I told you these folks are just crazy talented!

There are a few after meeting activities like games and curation that encourages other people to check their fellow helpienaut's post. 

@meno always has a menoism and I remember the first one he said that struck me that I am in a good community.

we are the opposite
and if we can't share the little we have, we are not ready to have a lot 

# Community. 

A lot of communities has a lot of rules. Generally rules are good but there are certain exceptions when it becomes forced and feels too constricting. 

When your freedom is impeded then it is harder to believe in something or to act freely without fear of repercussions. So I tend to shy away from communities that have so many rules. 

You don't need to comment on anyone but it is recommended to have that sense of camaraderie.  You don't need to upvote everyone or have rules on resteeming but freely given. 

Just like a lot of the other members I freely decided to both delegate some SP and join its Voting trail. Not because it is a requirement but because I want to help others grow as I do. The unvoting of myself is a pain though lol.  

You are given free reign but you are supported and feel that you belong. 

# Sense of belongingness 

I think that is one of the things that I really like about the community. You are just made to feel you are welcome regardless of where you come from, the size of your Steem power or who you are.

Everyone is treated nicely and feel important. 

# Sense of Silliness

I did mention that sometimes it feels like a nuthouse there especially when the chat is alive. There could be several conversations going on that if you just woke up you would be so overwhelmed but then if you give your two cents, you are sure to be listened to. 

I love the silliness of forks and knives flying after a pig, of a bunny nomming all cookies and chocolate parties.

This is not a shill post to expose this community more but rather it is a gratitude post for all the people that I met in @helpie that has kept me motivated to keep on creating content and not give up. 

It is their words, their actions, their smiles and stories that make me feel that I can continue on and reach dolphin status eventually. I am nearing my 1k SP goal and I just have to be smart, love what I do and love all the communities that I am in and supporting. 

It is our responsibility to become the middle class of the platform and help other people grow. Once we have a strong middle class of minnows and dolphins then we will surely see the age of abundance unfold before our very eyes.

Keep Steeming and Keep on helping.
