# GO FOR THE EXPEDIENT.

Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. 1 Timothy 4:14-16

Any word that we hear that can change our hearts to long after the this of the kingdom of God is worth giving attention to, we must pay close attention to the spirit breathed word of our lord just like Mary in the scriptures did when our lord visited their house.

Martha was cumbered about much serving in the book of Luke 10, and came to Jesus, and stated, Lord, dost thou not mind that my sister hath left me to serve alone? offer her in this way that she encourage me. Furthermore, Jesus addressed and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou craftsmanship cautious and agitated about numerous things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath picked that great part, which will not be detracted from her." 

Isn't this like numerous in the Household of faith today; entrapped by works. Continually drudging to develop the nearby get together through an assortment of occasions. Under a steady strain to work, to grow; crusade program, another gathering, arranging sessions, and such things. The inclination with such distraction is loss of sight. An inability to see His radiance, greatness, graciousness, and reason. 

Martha, nearly rebuking Jesus for not reproving Mary, who neglected to help her set a "table" for the Lord. In the times of the Apostles, it was vital around then to likewise set a "table before the Lord's brethren", the witnesses reacted therefore, 'it isn't practical to leave the service of the Word to serve tables'. They proceeded and said "we will give ourselves persistently to petition, and to the service of the Word." 

Jesus, affectionately reacts to Martha "one thing is needful: and Mary hath picked that great part, which will not be detracted from her." That part is thoughtfulness regarding the Word and to petition! God is all adequate, which means He can build His Church without us. However, He called us into organization since His objective, through fellowship stays to shape the man into the picture of Christ. 

When we settle our look on some other thing yet the Lord, we dismiss Him, and His motivation in fellowship is defeated. We quit developing into the picture of Christ.
