# Who is a full time minister?

Hello steemians, I’m glad to welcome us again to the second part of our discussion on full time ministry, it was awesome yesterday as our discussion threw up so many questions and understanding from many steemians and believers.

In this part, we’ll go more deeper like I promised us yesterday, but remember that we’d rather maintain our discussion as interactive as possible.

Before we step further, it pleased me to thank some of my friends who followed our discussions yesterday and made some vehement contributions, someone like @abeludotu who wrote:

But how we go about it might vary...Thank you anyways. hope am not digressing.

**REFERENCE POINTS**



It’ll be nice if we can establish a common understanding of where we’re coming from as it relates our discussion, we all know that when someone hear this word ‘Christianity’, the next thing that flash across the mind is Jesus and his church. But let me point out something here, my referencing point is not on any religion but on Christ, the spirit of the father that was sent to guide, and the life the early church right before christian religion was born legalized by men.

It’s unfortunate that we have mixed parameters today, men establishing their own traditions and righteousness that are different from the righteousness of God.

The early believers that Jesus left here before his ascension didn’t follow the traditions of institutionalized churches neither did they follow the Jewish traditions, they were men and women that were led totally by the spirit of God.

**THE TERM ‘FULL TIME MINISTRY IS NOT BIBLICAL AS ITS WIDELY USED TODAY**

Just like the scriptures talked about baptism, gifts of the spirit etc. when it comes to ‘full time ministry’ it’s not written anywhere in the scripture, but men adopted it based on the life that they saw Jesus and his apostles lived.

**HOW MEN UNDERSTAND FULL TIME MINISTRY TODAY.**

The idea of full time ministry was adopted from the the ancient Jewish tradition and Judaism, it is an understanding that suggests that any man who must become a full time minister, priest etc must leave his job career, must not inherit properties alongside with his brethren just like we saw in levitical priesthood; aronic priesthood and Catholic Church as well.

This idea was what christianity adopted, starting from Catholic Church down to the Latter Day Saint movement churches which some of this churches prohibits their priests from marrying so that they can yield all their life time total to God’s call. But unfortunately that was not how the lord established his church!

**The church of the first born** was established through the power of the Holy Ghost by which it’s said; John 3:8
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

The church of Jesus can never run by man’s ideologies and elections, it’s not even by choice but by God’s who only can send laborers into his harvest.

If it were by man’s election and ordinations, Jesus wouldn’t have told us to pray that God should send laborers to his harvest because there was priests in the land when he made that statement, if you’re spiritually alert, you can draw a line here between religion and the will of God.

Yes we can decide to take ‘full time ministry literally, yet we must understand how it works, else we may end up practicing religion in the name of answering God’s call.


In our world today, religion has made people to believe in centralized and institutionalized way of doing things and by so doing has relinquished the spirit which was given to lead the church of Jesus Christ.

**WAS JESUS A FULL TIME MINISTER, WHAT ABOUT PETER AND PAUL**?

We shall look at that question tomorrow.
