Yesterday on the way home I suddenly noticed this interesting formation. The already dried up remains of a plant were covered over and over with thick ice and they stretched like fingers in all directions.

A very interesting formation, which mother nature presents us here. Directly above the plant stood the viaduct of the Shinkansen train and from the very top cold water was dripping down. The water pipe right next to it was also covered with a layer of ice, apparently this was a particularly windy and cold spot, so that the water dripping onto the plant could quickly freeze and form this layer of ice. In the middle of each ice finger was a thin stalk, and everything was somehow connected.

Even though the ice plant seemed to look quite solid, it was a very fragile structure, almost a symbol of Mother Nature herself.

DEUTSCH

Gestern auf dem Weg nach Hause ist mir plötzlich dieses interessante Formation ausgefallen. Die eigentlich schon vertrockneten Reste einer Pflanze waren üfer und über mit dickem Eis bezogen und sie reckten sich wie Finger in alle Richtungen.

Ein sehr interessantes Gebilde, welches uns Mutter Natur hier präsentiert. Direkt über der Pflanze stand das Viadukt des Shinkansen-Zuges und von ganz oben tropfte immer wieder kaltes Wasser herunter. Auch das Wasserrohr gleich daneben war mit einer Schicht Eis überzogen, scheinbar war das hier eine besonders zugige und kalte Ecke, so das das auf die Plfanze tropfende Wasser schnell gefrieren und diese Eisschicht bilden konnte. Mitten in den Eisfingern steckte jeweils ein dünner Halm, und alles war irgendwie miteinander verbunden.

Auch wenn die Eispflanze doch ziemlich fest auszusehen schien, handelte es sich doch um ein sehr fragiles und zerbrechliches Gebilde, fast schon ein Sinnbild für Mutter Natur an sich.

Stark aber doch verletzlich

Man muss nur immer die Augen aufhalten, dann bekommt man auch hinter dem eigenem Haus immer wieder interessante Bilder präsentiert. Also schaut gut hin, und genießt was ihr seht.
