What we learn from Game Theory about Trust
This post is also an advice about friendship and relationships with other people. I am not an expert in Game Theory but I saw a gamification of some important lesson, which I feel like should not be ignored, so I would like to share it with you.
If you would like to play this free game your self take a look [here](https://ncase.me/trust/). If you don't like playing games you can watch the play through here:

What do we learn from this?
If we do not want a world full of assholes then you should interact with people many times. Have true friends and help them out when they need help, but don't help them if they keep refusing to help you. Do not be a saint, as if you only try to do good, you attract and help the ones that want to use that. If a person keeps cheating you, it is unwise to trust that person.

If we do not want a world full of simpletons, show understanding. If the person ditched you on an appointment, maybe it was an honest mistake. Maybe he did not mean to be mean. Don't hold grudge. Everyone makes mistakes, so from the first one you cannot know that someone is using your kindness.

Why has this become so relevant in our time?
Because we are in an age full of smartphones and computers. We do not need human interaction as much, since we have games and social media. You could argue that social media increases the amount of people you interact with, but the length and quality of interaction is less. Most online interactions you will not keep for years. I find personally that it takes more than half a year of intense interaction to know a person well enough to fully trust that person.
Meanwhile in the real world I keep going in near collisions with people walking S lines while being immersed in their smartphone. People depend on their smartphone so much, the shape of their spine changes. People are not looking up anymore in public but keep scrolling and swiping. They do not look out and cherish their true friends since even with their friends they cannot put that thing away. Some are even speaking of a loneliness epidemic:

At the same time, since we communicate mostly through our smartphones, the communication quality has decreased. We do not receive a smile or a gesture when receiving a text. A poorly phrased text message can be the source of a major misunderstanding causing a person to be passive aggressive to you next time.

Cherish the good friends you have, that you trust and have proven not to cheat you when you need help. Maybe one day they will be of a rare kind.
