See, there is a solution for every problem! I must remember that one, but I think I need a few gallons and a  fire hose for my neighbours 200 meters down the road. Their every night parties and loud (makes my rafters shake) are driving me bonkers. We have noise by-laws but in order to have them enforced, you need to bribe the police...sigh. Perhaps our revolution will take care of the problem.

Ha ha, classic.  I thought all you Scotch (tee hee) liked the bagpipes.  National instrument.  I have a friend who is a bag piper.  In a band too!  Funny about the pavement.  pavement here donotes asphalt pavement such as in streets, sidewalks are typically made from concrete.  but there is concrete paving in some roads also.  Just a bit of trivia for you.

I thought the people of Scotland loved that music, but you just clarified that doubt: it seems to me that many Scots do not like it very much either ... Well, that's normal inside each country.

I actually quite like bagpipes - as long as they're good, and in short bursts... Here in Wellington, buskers are supposed to have permits, so we can ring the council and complain if they're too heinous or go on too long. But your solution was very effective!

Whahahaha you did not....  We sometimes hear the bagpipes played at festivals or funerals or so but obviously not a lot and then it is actually beautiful, but I can imagine if it is not played well and for the whole day it can drive you nuts.

You are worse than a student that needs to be under supervision LOL - but I can understand this actually.  Had a student that was obsessed with Scotland and he believed that he could play the bagpipes.... he could not.  That sound cuts right through your soul if not played right.  But they do sound lovely if played correctly (ok maybe not the whole day)
