Brick Saturday

Milwaukee, Wisconsin is known as Cream City for the brick that was produced there in the 1800's. The clay used had a high concentration of lime and sulfur, which gave it it's creamy color, and it was used for building many structures around Wisconsin.

Cream City Brick was used for Eagle Bluff Lighthouse which sits above Green Bay.

Several old houses in my town were built of Cream City Brick.

It was inexpensive and used in industrial and commercial buildings in New York, Chicago and other American cities. In 1859, the first ship load of brick even made their way to Hamburg, Germany and it was popular enough that they were exported and used for building across Western Europe.

Beautiful buildings... I wonder what the first building is? A normal house or a lighthouse? Really beautiful...

It is a lighthouse and the house the lighthouse keeper lived in back in the days before electricity the lights had to be lit  every night, so the keeper lived on site. There was a big reflective lens that magnified the light from the lamp.

i don't think so its a old town.. still the city were like a king & you captured it very well.
