I build my cars in a pretty specific way, i am an opportunist builder. this means that i dont just throw my car at a performance workshop and say give me power. I will do research on what i would like to achieve, find the products i would like to attain for my build, hunt them in the bargain bins and on forums or ebay.

In the instance of my stagea build i had been collecting my parts fro well over 2 years, turbo, injectors, air flow meter etc. slowly but surly collecting what i needed to get her up to the level i was happy with. I had planned to have it all put together at its major service, but i had exams coming up at the time and i had to push just a little more to get there. this would be my undoing, lol.

on the drive home from an appointment my radiator blew.... i had snapped a belt for the water pump and the car just gave out. This is the pics of the damage attained. After some running about and collecting the new radiator, I decided that this was the time to make the project happen, if she was going to be out of action then she would rise like a phoenix from the ashes stronger and better than before.

And so from this tragedy that struck down my Stagea the project began to build a better stronger version of the car. the process was about 2-3 months long in fixing the problems with the car, completing the major service, applying the modifications, and then having a performance mechanic (Unigroup Engineering) tune and iron out the kinks. but the results speak for themselves. If you can, when something breaks, don't just fix it, upgrade it.

Nice to meet another Stagea owner here. They're amazing wagons and aside from the usual issues (coilpacks, thirst, rust) they are absolutely thumping vehicles. When I moved interstate and had to register mine, I used the opportunity to fix up and upgrade a few things too (especially the coils) - it's been flawless ever since.

Yeah they are pretty good for the people who want performance but need the versatility of a wagon ;) i have quite a bit done to my stag, its up at the 280kw on safe tune atm cracks 300kw if i wanna be a dare devil, but dont wanna have to re build the motor for that little bit more power, lol. if you are interested in checking out the car scene on here join this discord server:

Mine's a family hauler, daily driver and carries everything I've thrown at it without a hitch so I've kept it stock and can happily stretch out 550+ kms to a tank.
