# Joh 21:15  So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

>I like how, before the death and resurrection of Christ, Peter was around a fire and denied Jesus three times. In this discourse, Jesus and Peter are by another fire and Jesus gives Peter the chance to affirm his love and commitment to Him three times.

### What do we love more than Jesus? 

Right away we my say, "Nothing!" Peter was the same way. "You know I love you!" His question was not whether Peter loved Him, but was that love, the more kind of love. 

We can easily see what we love the most. 

* What we speak about the most is a great indicator. 
* Do we speak of Jesus? 
* Our hobby, job, movies or tv program? 

Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouthpiece will speak. The things we love the most, we speak of the most! 

Jesus is asking, Do you love Him more than these? 

Where do we spend the most time? Prayer, bible study, doing what the bible says, or just hearing and not doing? Again hobbies, tv, sports. Do you love Jesus more than these?

### Where we spend our money. 

This is a touchy subject. Anything connected with "our money". It is really God's money, we are to be stewards. Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also! Are we spending our money purchasing more possessions? Are we feeding the poor, taking care of orphans, going to establish God's covenant on the face of the earth? Are we building our paneled houses, while God's house is in shambles? 

Here I am not referring specifically to the building (church). The Church is a Living Organism. The Body of Christ.

### Do we love Jesus more than these?

When we pray, what do we pray? 

Is this time worship and focused on Jesus? Or is focused on us, our needs. Do we pray for others? Do we pray for laborers that are in the front lines, spreading the gospel. Do we pray for Israel, people we don't know. Do we pray for the character of Jesus to be formed in us. Where is the proof that we love Jesus more than these?

When we do read the bible, do we read, asking God to renew or minds, or to prove what we already think and believe. Is our particular church's doctrine more important than what the bible really says? Do we love Jesus more than these?

Mat 12:34  O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Mal 3:16  Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.# 

If we are out of sorts with this question, Just like with Peter, Jesus has a way for restoring the right priorities in our lives.
