 西安市兴庆宫公园是于1958年在唐兴庆宫遗址上修建起来的文化遗址公园，是西安市最大的城市公园。公园设计用大写意的手法，泼墨挥洒，取西北高而东南低之势，三山植林木。 湖中立三岛，以龙池为中心，在郁郁葱葱，山水相依之中，按原兴庆宫的方位，布设了沉香亭、花萼相辉楼、南薰阁、长庆轩、日本遣唐使“阿培仲麻吕”纪念碑、五龙潭亭、三八林等景点。 作为唐代皇家园林，风景自然不错，现在免费对外开放，是个景色秀丽的城市公园。 整个公园中间有一个湖，这是整个公园的精华，开设了很多水上游乐项目，岸边整齐的排列着游船。乘船游玩的大都是小孩，不时有小小的游船穿过一座座小桥。 有兴趣的话可以绕湖步行一周，景色还是不错的，湖边上都是浓密的绿树，而湖中还有一座座的小岛。公园里也有一些看上去很庄重的建筑物，不过应该是后来重建起来的，没有对外开放，而树荫下则是全国到处都有的民间合唱团和舞蹈团，忙的不亦乐乎。
