Someone recently asked me how I feel when I make poetry, right out of my mouth flew *freedom*, and I will tell you why in a bit.
Then I was suddenly lost in trying to articulate the other feelings into the words he could perfectly understand. So I made him a deal and said to him, *I will consciously take note of how I feel each time I make poetry for the next three days.* 

I eventually came by awesome results and this post is carved right through them. 

Firstly, I realise poetry writing helps me get my mind of things that pose to be some sort of worry, I tend to worry a lot sometimes, and some other times, I'm the least worrier. But when that particular thought is pressing, and the other voice seems to be drowning mine, I sink into writing poetry and block it all out. 

When we were kids, one of the things that spurred us to playing so much was the sparseness in our imagination and you know what, we didn't care, as long as it was fun. But as we grew older, words such as responsibility, comportment, societal standards and behavioral expectations etc set in and took that childhood away. Some people find that sparse imagination again when they do what they love, bringing creativity to its peak. For me, I put that imagination to play when I make poetry. You know how someone who loves to make food feel when he's making his favorite meal? It absorbs me entirely. 

Due to my nature, it's sometimes hard for me to share how I feel with people around me, but when making poetry, I find many ways to birth my words from how I feel, into stories and Limerick's that expresses the emotion and ambience of such context, sometimes it's an experience, sometimes, it's a thought, other times are fiction, admonition to the world, and sometimes it's just me making magic. 

This is not about flattery, but it gives me joy seeing the expression on the faces of people knowing that they smiled from their heart or enjoyed a read of my poetry or could relate to it in some way, that they could understand the messages within and know that someone somewhere is being positively refreshed, make it into a song, or just have a personal reflective moment with them. Someone once said he's choosing one of the poetry I've written for his wedding vow. Lol, how sweet. 

Writing poetry also puts me in a constant state of creating, questing my imagination for a collection of words that will contain emotion, experience, truth, desire, betrayal, birth, romance, pain, dreams and love from the simplest depths of dimensional realities. Every human has felt these, a friend will say *this is my art to the world, I say this is my heart to the world*.

Somehow I feel that if my friend who asked me about this topic doesn't read this post, I might get suddenly lost in trying to articulate the feelings into the words he could perfectly understand, oh and over 50 billion people on earth who want to know how I feel when I make poetry. <sub>plus the gazillion bots and aliens trying to replicate my DNA</sub>
