**Travel notes in Tanzania. The Second day**

What did the brave border guard want from us? Yes, nothing really - dude deigned to joke, he just liked the bright green color of our PCR forms. The cherry on the cake was that we managed to get a profit from our PCRs - the girl on the first checkpoint credited it to us as an asset. What does checkpoint mean and what does asset mean? Everyone arriving in Tanzania will have several quests, without passing which, this arriving person will not be able to get to the coveted exit from the airport ...
First, the newcomer needs to fill out an electronic form. Some advanced gentlemen of European appearance filled it in in advance. We, as real "lemmings", of course, did not have the necessary experience and therefore found ourselves at the end of the stream, although we were the first to leave the plane. A nice girl helped the arriving passengers fill out the form. She was immediately engaged by two gentlemen from Germany. Remembering the instructions of our Tanzanian friends, I caught the moment and took the girl away from the slightly relaxed EU citizens. They tried to fight off the volunteer girl, but we were on the alert and blocked their attempts. Having passed the first quest, we rushed to the second, but ran into a huge crowd of people waiting. Mindful of the tricks of my mother, I went to one of the "cash desks" with the words "I just ask" and, of course, got hooked there with all the hooks. The family was ready - they were already pushing the necessary documents to me from the bottom right. We took this checkpoint with a cavalry swoop, I smiled at the checkpoint queen as best I could. The beauty melted and put me some kind of seal on the PCR forms. Bingo! This meant that we were bypassing the 3rd quest - the express test for covid!
Thus, we have overtaken the main waiting group.
However, while filling out the immigration card, the youngest member of the family had a crisis; he basically refused to fill out the questionnaire on his own. Ugly child, what can you say ...
As a result, we broke through to the baggage area in the main group of arrivals. We grabbed suitcases and quite happy reached the barrier, where there are handsome tall guys dressed in white shirts with signs in their hands.
Our dude's name was Morgan. He did not have a white shirt; he was holding a piece of paper on which my wife's name was illegibly written. But in those moments he was infinitely dear to us...

What can I say about first impressions? ... in general, you immediately understand - this is Africa, brother. Warm air enters the lungs. You drink and sweat all the time. The feeling that you are in a sauna, from which you cannot leave ...
Chaotic buildings. Chaotic traffic. Unusual vegetation. Scorching sun. Hot asphalt. People move slowly.
Here we will learn the cherished word 'Pole-pole', which will become the motto of our trip. It means - Easy! Take your time, brother...

By the presence of the flags of various states flying over the gates of pretty villas, I realized that we are going to live in a very nice area. I was not mistaken - the villa was located in the quarter where foreign embassies are located.
The first thing we did after dropping the suitcases was rushed to the pool, fortunately 10 meters from the living room to it.
A little surprise awaited us here ... The water turned out to be much warmer than the air.

Payment for services and goods is made in bills of several thousand shillings. $ 1,000 was exchanged for 2,000,000 shillings. This is, of course, rather unusual.

On the first day we were invited by a local to the yacht club. At first everything seemed pretty simple to us, since I saw similar establishments in Greece, Turkey and other counties. But then after observing, I changed my mind ...
The concentration of people with pale skin caught my eye. It was explained to me the cream of Dar es Salaam society gathers here...
They also explained to me that this yacht club has a very ancient history. It was founded by the British colonialists. The club is owned by a descendant of these colonialists. For local African elites, this club is like an eyesore .... in general, this all causes a specific burning sensation in certain places among the newly-minted local elites, and they have a desire to remove this legacy of the colonial past.
We sat in the steamy ocean water. Impressive gentlemen sailed past on various boats and boards. Our hostess greeted them: "Hi, James, Hi, Martin, Hi Tony ... Bonjour Michel, Guten Abend, Klaus ..."
Тhen the aroma of grilled seafood pulled from the kitchen. We did not have time to grab the shrimp, we got squid and some small lobsters, I know very little about them.
And then we drank Kilimanjaro beer and cracked the shells of the clams, trying to get to their tender white meat ...
The next day, I unpacked the box of my newly purchased drone and launched it from the villa's garden. When I turned around, I saw the face of the hostess, white with fear. She said: "Do you understand that now the police can come, and then the situation can develop from a banal imprisonment to expulsion from the country. Do you know that the Belgian consul stupidly cannot get several compatriots out of prison? They just sit in prison and wait no one knows what ...
If the police come, don't say that you live with us ... "
Then it was my turn to be pale ...

I did enjoy reading your Tanzanian travel notes and watching the video in the end. I love the taste of Halloween 🎃 out there where it is so exotic, hot and summery. Your choice of thumbnail photo also gets us the readers ready for the interesting end. My favourite is the third photo featured here which shows us the picturesque view of your holiday villa. I am speechless about the ever so complicated on arrival procedure but I would say that patience is the key to walking out of that terminal building. Thank you for sharing all this with us here and I will be looking forward to reading more of your travel notes and seeing more of the photos you took in Tanzania.

You really had a very different and scenic vacation. Love your photos of the yachts in the bay from your establishment. Border crossings are always a difficult procedure and can be hot and tiresome, in most African countries.
Glad you had some seafood too @mister-omortson
