### <center> Eskapodcast  </center>

Ich höre mir verschiedene deutschsprachige Rollenspiel-Podcasts an. Und bei den meisten liege ich einige Monate zurück... Letztes Wochenende habe ich es endlich geschafft mir eine Folge vom [Eskapodcast](https://www.eskapodcast.de/2019/04/14/folge-118-zehn-dinge-die-jeder-wirklich-getan-haben-muss/) anzuhören, die erst ein halbes Jahr alt war. Thema war: Was sind die Dinge, die getan (oder erlebt) haben sollte, um ein "richtiger" Rollenspieler zu sein. Sie hatten schon einige Zeit zuvor einen über "Zehn Dinge..." gemacht und jetzt wurde darüber gesprochen, was ihnen sonst dazu einfiel. Was war auf ihrer Liste und was davon habe ich getan/erlebt?

They had done one about "Ten things..." some time before and were talking about what they thought were important. Let me tell you what these things are and whether I've done them :)

### <center>A picture of your character - selfmade or not / Ein Bild deines Charakter - selbst gezeichnet oder auch nicht    </center>

Bilder von meinen Figuren zu haben ist wichtig. Ich bin nicht künstlerisch genug veranlagt, um sie selbst zu erstellen, so dass ich meistens online nach ihnen suche. Ich liebe [DeviantArt](https://www.deviantart.com/) - man kann viele Bilder finden, sie sammeln und verwalten und man kann sich leicht an die Künstler wenden, um nach der Verwendung eines ihrer Bilder zu fragen (Wer viel Zeit hat und wirklich meine Meinung hören möchte, der frage mich, was ich von Pinterest halte....). Obwohl - einer meiner Charaktere hat immer noch kein Bild und das nach vier Jahren - ich weiß, ich bin ein böser, nachlässiger Mensch!     *geht und schämt sich*

Though one of my chars still has no picture and that after four years - I know, I'm a bad, neglectant person!     *goes and hides*


### <center>Paint a miniature of your character / Eine Miniatur der Spielfigur bemalt haben     </center>

Nun..... Ich habe eine Miniatur, die ich vor zwanzig Jahren gekauft habe (die DSA-Amene) und die ich für alle meine weiblichen Charaktere verwende (ich habe erst vor zwei Jahren mit cross-gender begonnen). Sie hatte Prinzessin-Leia-Schneckenund das erste, was ich tat, war, meine Nagelfeile zu nehmen und diese Dinger am Kopf zu entfernen. Aber Anmalen.... Ich nahm einen Edding und färbte ihr Kleid. Ich erneuere das von Zeit zu Zeit, aber jetzt hat die Miniatur die meisten Details verloren, die Nase ist fast weg . Egal, sie ist dafür da um auf einer Battlemap zu stehen - da könnte ich auch irgendeinen Pöppel oder einen Würfel nehmen.

She had Princess Leia hair and the first thing I did was taking my nail file and removed them. But painting... I took a permanent marker and coloured her dress. I renew that every now and then, but now the miniature lost most of its details with the nose nearly gone. Doesn't matter, its use is to be put on a battle map, I could use a meeple for that. 



### <center>  Owning a set of dice and a dice board / Ein Würfelset und eine Würfelunterlage besitzen   </center>

Viele Leute scheinen Würfel zu sammeln - ich gehöre nicht dazu. Lange Zeit habe ich nur DSA gespielt und hatte die Würfel, die ich dafür brauchte: drei W20 in verschiedenen Farben und zwei W6 (für Laien: Würfel mit 20 Seiten und den altbekannten sechsseitigen Würfel). Dann kam Splittermond, das zwei W10 verwendet - ich kaufte mir ein Set. Als ich anfing, "Der Eine Ring" zu spielen, kaufte ich einen der Würfelsätze für dieses Spiel (einen W12 mit einem Auge Saurons und der Gandalf-Rune und sechs w6). Das war's - zumindest dachte ich das. Ich spielte auch meist online - wozu brauchte ich Würfel?

Then came Splittermond which uses two D10 - I bought a set of four D10. When I started playing "The One Ring" I bought one of the dice sets for that game (a d12 with an eye of Sauron and the rune of G for Gandalf and six d6). That was it - at least I thought that.

Dann ging ich mehr und mehr zu Cons. Dort bekam ich spezielle Würfel für Splittermond als Geschenk vom Spieleverlag. Und bei der Con der Drachenzwinge, meiner Online-Rollenspiel-Community, bekam ich Würfel mit dem Symbol der Drachenzwinge, dem Drachen. Und ich habe bei einer Tombola bei einer Con ein Würfelset gewonnen. Ich habe einen Würfel in Erinnerung an verstorbenen Rollenspieler - seine Würfel wurden zwischen denen verteilt, die früher mit ihm gespielt haben. Wie auch immer, jetzt habe ich einen Haufen Würfel. Und einen Würfelbeutel, natürlich von mir handgestrickt - es war ein erster Versuch, der Drache sieht mehr aus wie ein gerupftes Huhn...

And at the Con of my online role-playing community I got dices with said community's symbol, the dragon. And I won a set of dices at a tombola at a Con. I have one dice in rememberance of a co-player who died suddenly - his dices got distributed between those that used to play with him. Anyway, now I have a bunch of dices. And a dice bag - of course hand knit by me ;)

Ich habe kein Würfelbrett - aber es gibt diese [Würfelunterlagen](https://madebymelbel.de/epages/bcdda549-0f68-420c-80db-6942bbcf03ff.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/bcdda549-0f68-420c-80db-6942bbcf03ff/Categories/%22W%C3%BCrfel%20und%20W%C3%BCrfelzubeh%C3%B6r%22/Wuerfelunterlage_faltbar/Wargames) aus dickem Stoff und Druckknöpfen.... hm....  Ich könnte so etwas selber nähen!

### <center> GMing for children  /  Für Kinder leiten </center>

Nein, tut mir leid, das habe ich bisher noch nicht getan, und um ehrlich zu sein, dafür gibt es in naher Zukunft keine Pläne. Aber ich habe mehrmals mit dem ~ 6 jährigen Sohn eines Freundes gespielt und der Junge hat sogar ein Spiel geleitet. OK, das war Dungeonslayers, ein eher regelleichtes System, und es gab nicht viele Überraschungen im Plot, aber wir hatten alle Spaß.

>Nope, sorry, haven't done that so far and, to be honest, there are no plans for that in the near future. But I played several times with the ~ 6 year old son of a friend and the boy even GMed a game. OK, it was a rather rule light system and there were not a lot of surprises in the plot, but fun was had by all. 

### <center>  Stepping shoeless on a D4 / Barfuss auf einen W4 getreten zu sein.   </center>

Das habe ich auch nie getan - aber ich spiele hauptsächlich online und virtuelle Würfel bleiben auf dem virtuellen Tisch ;) Aber wie  im Podcast erwähnt wurde: Zählen Legos? Weil ich auf eine ganze Reihe von ihnen getreten bin, besonders auf die kleineren.

### <center> Pouring a beverage into the dice cup /  Wasser in den Würfelbecher gegossen </center>

Da ich keinen Würfelbecher besitze und (siehe oben) jetzt meistens online spiele - nein, das habe ich nie gemacht oder sogar gesehen. Passiert das wirklich?

### <center> Have an all-nighter / Eine Nacht durchgespielt.  </center>

Nun, zählt es, drei Stunden lang zu schlafen? Und dann war da das Wochenende mit acht Stunden Schlaf von Freitag bis Sonntag.... naja, zumindest fühlte ich mich danach so, als hätte ich durchgemacht. Aber ich hatte Spaß, also hat es sich gelohnt :)

>Well, does managing to sleep for three hours count? There was this one time... and then the weekend with eight hours sleep from Friday to Sunday... well, at least afterwards I felt like that where all-nighters. But I had fun, so it was worth it :)

### <center> Falling asleep during the game / Beim Rollenspiel eingeschlafen  </center>


Nun.... nicht wirklich ganz eingeschlafen.... nur so ein bisschen...   Ich habe eine Gruppe, die sich am Samstag um 23 Uhr trifft. Und ab und zu kommt es vor, dass ich nach zwei Stunden oder so müde bin. Meistens versuche ich dann, so richtig ins Geschehen einzusteigen, so dass sich die anderen mit mir beschäftigen, um mich wach zu halten. Aber ein oder zwei Mal.... naja, meine Reaktionszeit war zugegeben etwas lang und sie mussten mich ein paar Mal ansprechen :)

>Well... not really full asleep... only 9/10 ;)   I have a group that meets Saturday at 11 pm. And every now and then it happens that I'm really tired two hours or so into the game. Mostly I try to get really into the action, so that the others engage with me, to keep me awake. But once or twice... well, my response time was a bit long and they had to call my name a few times :)

### <center> Managed to play an adventure path till the end / Eine Kampagne bis zum Ende durchgespielt.  </center>

Ja, das habe ich getan! Wirklich! Glaub mir! Obwohl..... Es war die Pfadfinderkampagne "Council of Thieves". Und es gibt Teile, die man wirklich lieben muss, um sie durchzuspielen. In einem der Abenteuer müssen die Charaktere an einem Theaterstück teilnehmen (bekannt in Westcrown für die Zahl der Leute die die Premiere nicht überleben) und wir haben das so weit wie möglich verkürzt. Wir hätten mehr davon weggelassen, aber ich spielte eine Bardin und wir wollten ihr etwas Zeit und Raum geben, um zu zeigen was sie kann (Es war mein erster Pfadfindercharakter und mir wurde geraten, eine Bardin zu spielen: "So vielseitig. Und einfach zu spielen!" - Genau, Barden sind für Anfänger leicht zu spielen... Aber ich mag diesen Char und sie hat die Kampagne überlebt. Also, wer jemals nach Westcrown kommt, es gibt Freibier in ihrer Taverne!). 

>Yes, I did that! Really! Believe me! Although... It was the Pathfinder Adventure Path "Council of Thieves". And there are parts in it you really have to love to really play them through. In one of the adventures the characters have to take part in a play (famous in the city for people not surviving rehearsal and performance) and we shortened that as much as possible. We would have omitted more of it, but I played a bard and we wanted to give her some time to show off and shine (It was my first Pathfinder character and I was advised to play a bard: "So versatile. And easy to play!" - let's not talk about a bard being easy to play for beginners, OK? Though I like her and she survived the campaign. So, if you ever come to Westcrown, free beer for you at her tavern!). 

Wie auch immer, wir haben eine etwas verkürzte Variante des Abenteuerpfades gespielt. Aber ich traf dort einige interessante NPCs (der Frosch, der Hund und der Rabe wurden in [diesem](https://steempeak.com/showcase-sunday/@muscara/showcase-sunday-roleplaying-with-tiere-im-rollenspiel-ger-eng) Post erwähnt).
