I have 3 little ones. And by are they stylish! They are still pretty young so I'm sure much of their personal style comes from me and their father. However, even at this young age, they have their preferences and a distinct sense of what looks good and what works for them.

What I have found these days is that so many of the children's styles are just mini versions of adult styles so I find myself drawn to clothes that satisfy my sense of nostalgia and what little children should look like in my own mind. I tend to be a bit conservative. Give me a classic white blouse and khaki's or slacks in black or navy any day but for my kids, color is where it's at! And the brighter the better!

My toddlers love bright colors with names like neon pink, chartreuse and periwinkle. You should see they trying on new clothes. I bought a twirly, girly-girl skirt the other day, and she immediately transformed into a supermodel walking the runways of Paris or Milan. She spun and twirled and smiled broadly as she showed her new tutu off to her dad. She definitely has her own sense of style! And let's not even talk about shoes. She loves them already, which is really strange because I myself am not a huge lover of shoes. I am content to find a comfortable pair and wear them to death. Not my little miss! She loves to go shoe shopping and actually sits still to try on several pairs. All this "shoe patience" from a girl who cannot bear to sit still to comb her hair!

My 2-nd daughter on the other hand is one cool cat! Just like her father, she tends toward the sporty look. She wears a school uniform so she doesnt have much choice or say in the clothes she wears to school but on a weekend and when we go out, she loves to add his own personal touch. Mind you shes five, so a personal touch for her is usually a sticker on her cheek but its her own style and she rocks it!

They are still quite young so their sense of style is largely based on what I buy for them but I do welcome their input and like getting their opinion on some of the styles that I pick out. The final decision is still mine but I am flexible in color choice and some designs. They love going shopping especially since we go together. I don't know how long that will last but whatever they wear when they grow up, I know they'll wear it with style.
