Certainly not in the way we had our first life but even better in my opinion is the fact that in some ways, we all live for ever.

Let me explain.

Using basic biology, all living things are carbon based. Humans are 99% made up of 6 simple elements, Oxygen, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Calcium, Phosphorus and Carbon. A further 0.84% is made up of 5 elements and the last 0.16% from assorted other trace elements.

These elements are all combined into different compounds to create us humans. Now the thing about atoms, those basic building blocks of everything, is that they can neither be created nor destroyed by chemical reaction. This means that whatever happens to you, such as death! You will never be destroyed and your atoms will carry on 'living' or simply being atoms, combining with other atoms and perhaps becoming something else!!

On a practical level.

When you die, if you are cremated, you become a pile of ash. That's simply just the form of the atoms changing due to a chemical reaction, fire. Same atoms, same number, just different form!!

Now lets scatter your ashes in a meadow or woodland. Remember your six basic elements? ALL life is made from these elements so they will become part of the soil and plants will grow and as they do, sucking up some of your elements. You're now a daisy, or an oak tree!! How cool is that?

One day, that oak tree might die and rot back into the earth, possibly getting eaten by a wood louse or a termite, a chicken may eat the termite, a human might eat the chicken and that human might produce a baby....some where in that mix maybe just one of your atoms may be present.....and you are again part of another human.

Life recycling. Nature at its most wondrous, beautiful and efficient!

The other way you will live for ever is through your question. The Steem blockchain will never forget ;-)

Iām actually scared of dying. We all have a limited time here and it can be over just like that. Not knowing or not really understanding what comes after death is scary. :)

It is mate, and I think this fear is what keeps religion in business. It offers nice fluffy answers, not just to the 'what happens next' question, but also gives answers to other questions we haven't figured out answers to. I like my explanation, it kind of soothes me. Death is shit though. Watching people die is horrible, and they are scared like hell when they know their time is up. We all need something to stop us spending too much time dwelling on it! Stop about thinking about death, you got a new business to take your mind off things ;-)
